Nagelkerke R square for Prediction data
Hello I found some small postings dated to 22 Oct 2008 on the message subject. Recently, I have been working with binary logistic regressions. I didn't use the design package. Yet, I needed the "fit" indices. Therefore, I wrote a small function to output the Nagelkerke's R, and the Cox-&-Snell R from a fitted model. I am no professional programmer by far, yet, I hope, that

Use of optim to fit two curves at the same time ?
Dear list, Here is a small example code that use optim and optimize in order to fit two functions. Is it possible to fit two functions (like those two for example) at the same time using optim ... or another function in R ? Thanks Arnaud ###################################################################### ## function 1 x1 <- 1:100 y1 <- 5.468 * x + 3 # + rnorm(100,0, 10) dfxy <-

Drop column from a data frame
I am trying to drop a column of a data frame. The code below attempts to drop a numeric column (which does not work but gives no error or warning) and a factor column (which does not work but gives an error). I would appreciate someone telling me why my code does not work, and suggesting code that will work. Thanks, John rm(dfxyz, dfxz, dfxy) # create the data frame. dfxyz <-

superimpose histogram on biplot
Hi all, I've been trying to figure out how to superimpose a histogram on a biplot that shows the relative contribution of each axis. I have been using the NIPALS function (http://biomserv.univ-lyon1.fr/~dray/ files/softwares/nipals.R) to run principal component analyses. Here is a toy example. source("http://biomserv.univ-lyon1.fr/~dray/files/softwares/nipals.R")

Sort a data frame with respect to more than one variable
Dear All, How can I sort a data frame with respect to more than one variable? I know that for one variable X one may use: df[order(df$X), ] where df is the data frame containing X. Many thanks, Bernard --------------------------------- [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

Xen Networking problem!
Hi, I ''ve got a CentOS 5.2 server running xen 3.0 with 2 DomUs also running CentOS 5.2. All my boxes are up-to date. I''m experiencing trouble with networking. Dom0 can reach the outside world when no DomU are started. It can also reach the outside world when only one DomU is running. The troubles begin when I start the second DomU. At first, this new DomU, called DomU2,
