map and shapefile help
Hi,
I want to use map("state") and have the ecoregion shape (please see link)
file projected onto this.
ftp://ftp.epa.gov/wed/ecoregions/cec_na/NA_CEC_Eco_Level3.zip

Could someone please show me how; I have never messed with this sort of
thing.
Thanks.

[FORGED] Re: polypath winding rule with transparency
Hi
Just to clarify, I think this IS a problem with grid.path() as well as
polypath().
For the example you give, grid.path() diverts to drawing a polygon
(because there is no 'id' specified), and the NAs in 'x' generate two
separate polygons, which get drawn one on top of the other.
The correct analogy to the polypath() example is ...
x2 <- matrix(x[!is.na(x)], ncol=2)

Hi, I see different results in png() and pdf() for polypath() on Windows
when using the "winding" rule

accessing data by packagename::dataname from within package code fails.
I have narrowed down the problem.
The error
Error : 'AminoAcids' is not an exported object from 'namespace:bibliospec'
Error : unable to load R code in package 'bibliospec'
occurs only if I try to access the data using bibliospec::AminoAcids
within the initialize method of an R reference class.
It does work, as far as I tested everywhere else. In other methods of

Parametrized Vignettest in R packages
Hello,
I have a package which includes some parameterized r-markdown report
which I would also like to build as package vignettes.
Is there a way to run the parameterized vignette creation with the
package build or package check?
Thank you

unable to load shared object
Thanks for asking.
The path where R tries to load the dll from does not exist I think (or
the install process deletes it after the error - might this be the
case?):
C:/Users/wewol/OneDrive/Documents/R/win-library/3.5/grpc/libs/x64/grpc.dll'
When I am checking after the error that path is only valid up to:
C:/Users/wewol/OneDrive/Documents/R/win-library/3.5/
So maybe (?) the install process

Problem with adding a raster and a brick
Hi,
I seem to be having a problem adding the following two raster objects
together - one is a rasterLayer, the other is a rasterBrick. The extent,
resolution, and origin are the same, so according to my understand it
should work. The objects look like so:
> obs.clim
class : RasterLayer
dimensions : 60, 200, 12000 (nrow, ncol, ncell)
resolution : 0.5, 0.5 (x, y)
extent : -70,

Strange behaviour of setwd/getwd
I've found the following strange behaviour R (RStudio) which has been
confirmed by another user in RGui.
Inside a script I want to set two variables:
default.wd = getwd()
tmp.wd = setwd(choose.dir())
After choosing tmp.wd the value of default.wd is shown in Workspace, but
getwd() is giving back the correct string of tmp.wd.
Is there a workaround for the problem?

Fw: Re: Default Working directory on windows 7?
Suppose your working "R" directory is
C:\My Working Directory
I hope now that you have installed the R, you must be having "R ICON" on your desktop.
Right click on this icon, then click on Properties. Once that box is opened, you will find a tab called "Start in". There within the " " type C:\My Working Directory. So it should look like "C:\My

readGDAL or raster for reading bit map files
Dear all,
I have asked yesterday of how I can read a simple bitmap file in R cran.
I was suggest to use either readGDAL or raster for loading my bitmap
a. I have done it with readGDAL like
store<-readGDAL(fname='lena256.bmp')
and it works,... but it converts my matrix-like notion of a bitmap to a large vector
b. Raster also returns a class that I can not understand.

Time Delay / Wait
Hi Group,
Is there something like a delay function based on System time or equivalent?
I basically am generating a few graphs and I would like to see each graph
for say 2mins before moving on to the next one?
I can always have an empty for-loop I guess but is there a better way?
Thanks,

REad bitmap files
Dear all,
I am looking for a function that can read a simple bmp file and return me a matrix with their corresponding values.
I have already looked in the packages
require(ReadImages)
require(pixmap)
and also did apropos("image")
but I could not find something that can do something like that.
I have also tried the read.ftable but it also failed.

arguments must have the same length
Hi, anyone up in the night working? Thanks for being there. I'm getting this
error message "arguments must have the same length."
Can't seem to straighten it out. Any suggestions? Thanks so much!
PS I saw that someone asked a similar question, but I don't see that
anyone had posted a reply...

read ESRI file geodatabase feature classes
Hello-
Does anyone know if R can read in ESRI file geodatabase feature
classes, directly from the file geodatabase? I currently have to
export the data out of Arc, to a csv file, then read the csv file. I'd
like to bypass this step and read directly from the file geodatabase.
Thanks for your help.
