gls and phi1 >1 (phi larger than one)
Dear all, I am stuck with a problem that might be trivial for most of you (and therefore is a bit embarrassing for me...): I want to calculate a generalized least squares regression using two time series (Y depending on X) with an autoregressive correlation structure of order two (the data along time are given below). I use 'gls' from package 'nlme': Calib.gls <- gls(Y~X,

How to make LLVM go faster?
Thanks, that was a really helpful suggestion. If you're curious- here are some of the high cost areas: ===-------------------------------------------------------------------------=== DWARF Emission ===-------------------------------------------------------------------------=== Total Execution Time: 2.0117 seconds (2.0185 wall clock) ---User Time---

0.10.1 Upgrade problems
I just did an upgrade to Rails 0.10.1. It seems to have broken my app. I get this error (nothing works): ActionController::RoutingError (No route for path: ""): /usr/local/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/actionpack-1.5.1/lib/action_controller/routing.rb:258:in `recognize!'' /usr/local/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/rails-0.10.0/lib/dispatcher.rb:32:in `dispatch''

help isolinux with multiple iso-images on disk?
Hi, sorry to ask but I could not find any information on that topic. I want to build a cd with isolinux and its boot-menu, but on the cd I have various (small) iso-images as files and I want isolinux to provide me the menu-switching facility between them. Can this be done and if so, how? I managed to have isolinux working with various floppy-images on the cd but ffailed completely with

using tcltk in R under ESS/XEmacs on Windows
Sorry for the cross-post. Not sure where the problem is... A while back I posted an R function to R-help: cd <- function (dir = tclvalue(tkchooseDirectory()), saveOld = FALSE, loadNew = TRUE) { stopifnot(require(tcltk)) if (saveOld) save.image(compress = TRUE) setwd(dir) rm(list = ls(all = TRUE, envir = .GlobalEnv), envir = .GlobalEnv) if (loadNew &&

(x,y) coordinates for grid.text()
All, When using grid.text it seems my supplied (x,y) coordinates are being plotted only in npc (normalized parent coordinates) where (.5,.5) is the center of the graph. How do I allow (x,y) to be coordinates corresponding to the (x,y) values in the graph? The examples in ?grid.text seem to do this. (I think the problem lies in how x and y are defined with respect to unit ). Any help much

[LLVMdev] Analysis of polly-detect overhead in oggenc
Star Tan wrote: > I have found that the extremely expensive compile-time overhead comes from the string buffer operation for "INVALID" MACRO in the polly-detect pass. > Attached is a hack patch file that simply remove the string buffer operation. This patch file can significantly reduce compile-time overhead when compiling big source code. For example, for oggen*8.ll, the compile

Replacing plot symbols w/ subject IDs in xyplot()
All, How does one replace plot symbols with say subject IDs when using xyplot? Or superimpose them next to plot symbols? I searched the archives under various key words but haven't had much. Any suggestions or links much appreciated. Sample code below. David junk.frm = data.frame(ID = rep(1:16, each = 2), x, y, z = rep(c("D", "P"), 16)) y = c( 0.4, 0.6, -0.1,

Subsetting within xyplot()
All, I'm having problems w/ a simple attempt to subset an xyplot. The first plot below is a plot of y versus x for certain values of a third categorical variable z. Now I'd like to further restrict this to certain values of variable y. Neither of the two attempts below work. Any suggestions much appreciated. (note: I don't want to merely use ylim since I have a loess plot and I
