Rserv.conf
Greetings,
I have just installed R and Rserv on my W2k laptop for testing. I intend to use it for an upcoming project.
The Rserv documentation states that the configuration file should be /etc/Rserv.conf. I have created such a file in <R installation path>\etc\RServ.conf but R doesn't seem to read it.
Does anyone know where I should put Rserv.conf on Windows ? Many thanks.

PERL client example for RServ
Does anyone have a PERL client example that sends a command to a running
RServ instance and displays the output on the client side?
Regards
Lokesh

Cannot Compute Box's M (Three Days Trying...)
Does it work if you supply the closing parenthesis on the call to boxM?
The parser says the input is incomplete and a missing closing parenthesis
would cause that error..
// create a string command with that variable name.String boxVariable =
"boxM(boxMVariable [,-5], boxMVariable[,5]";
// try to execute the command...
// FAILS with org.rosuda.REngine.Rserve.RserveException: eval

[LLVMdev] Configuring test-suite
Round 2, fight!
I managed to run many tests (not sure all of them), and some failed,
some didn't. All errors in the 'test' rule were dutifully ignored (I
think). So far so good.
But I had some errors on the 'report' rule, which I wasn't expecting.
make: *** [report.simple.raw.out] Error 2
make: Target `report' not remade because of errors.

Rserve: failed to find config file
Dear R users,
I've installed Rserve for R version 2.11.0 on x64 Windows 7. I've added the
Rserve_d and Rserve files to the /bin/ folder where the R.exe is installed
in the program files. I have also created an Rserv.cfg file that contains
the following text:
remote enable
auth disable
plaintext disable
fileio enable
when I run "R CMD Rserve_d" from the dos prompt I

Rserve needs (but cannot find) libR.a (or maybe it's .so)
I have successfully installed Rserv (http://stats.math.uni-augsburg.de/Rserve)

I tried to do this, but ran into trouble.
LLVM itself compiled fine.
GCC compilation is broken when Java support is enabled. I can file a detailed

[LLVMdev] Configuring test-suite
Exactly how are you running the tests? Via LNT or directly?
If via LNT, make sure you test suite repository is clean (no in tree
configure or make results).

Hi Elena,

There are two test drivers in LNT. "lnt runtests nt" uses the old
Makefile-based system and "lnt runtests test-suite" uses the new
cmake-based system. It sounds like you are using the former and should
switch to the latter.

Unfortunately, I haven't been able to get the failure to occur in gdb. Our crash handler generates a back trace, but it doesn't supply much information:

Cannot Compute Box's M (Three Days Trying...)
Just print the string you are asking to R to evaluate. It doesn't make
any sense as an R expression. Fix that, and things will work.

Cannot Compute Box's M (Three Days Trying...)
It can't be this hard, right? I really need a shove in the right direction here. Been spinning wheels for three days. Cannot get past the errors.
I'm doing something wrong, obviously, since I can easily compute the Box's M right there in RStudio
But I don't see what is wrong below with the coding equivalent.
The entire code snippet is below. The code fails below on the call to

Disable interaction in R to use with Rserve
Is there a way to disable interactive behavior in R (?interactive), but
without it affecting the default error handling and reporting? This would be
needed to use Rserve without any interruption. The problem is that the
Rserve expects every eval either to return or return an error. The
connection gets stuck whenever R wants to display some kind of prompt.
For example, when the user runs

You were trying to eval an expression that you constructed in Java. I
was suggesting that before you eval it, you print it.

Right, that's what I was suggesting you do. Now you've fixed the
