axis in a normal plot
Hi
I have a small problem, I'm new in using R, so I hope you can help me...
I'm running a logistic regression model and want to do a nice plot.
The plot I have made is done a plot with the command jitter:
plot(jitter(overto$age[overto$sex=="F"]),jitter(overto$neg.pos[overto$sex=="F"]),xlab="age",ylab="neg and pos")
my responsvariable is positive

GAMs in R : How to put the new data into the model?
I have 5 GAMs ( model1, model2, model3, model4 and model5)
Before I use some data X(predictor -January to June data) to form a equation
and calculate the expected value of Y (predictand -January to June). After
variable selection, GAMs (Model 1)were bulit up! R-square :0.40
NOW, I want to use new X'( predictor -July - December data) and put into
Model 1, then get the expected value of Y'

selecting only specific rows in R
Hi, I have a data frame with columns as follows: tree species
(independent variable) and several dependent variables (e.g. carbon,
nitrogen, phosphorus). Each row represents one tree sample. Some tree
samples are unique species in the data frame while other species were
replicated (i.e. rows 1,2,3 may be identical for the "tree species"
column but have different values for the

ggplot2 scale relation free
I don't know if there is a way to use the scale relation free argument
in ggplot2 like in lattice. I have a feeling that there is not, but I
would like to make a plea for this feature. It would be nice to be
able to plot Total Inorganic Nitrogen Total Phosphorus and the ratio
of the two- the numbers on the axis are not related, but the previous
two are surely related to the last (this ratio

Plot with residuals in mgcv
Hi,
I am using the mgcv package (version 1.7-22.) running the model works fine,
but when I want to have a plot with residuals I get an error.

Hi,
I am using the gam function in the mgcv package, I have random effects in
my model (bs="re") this has worked fine, but after I updated the mgcv
package to version 1.7-19 I recive an error message when I run the model.

Different cp values in rpart() using plotcp() and printcp()
hi,
I have a question regarding cp values in rpart(). When I use plotcp() I get
a figure with cp values on the x-axsis, but then I use printcp() the cp
values in that list are different from the values in the figure by
plotcp(). Does someone know why?

PCI serial card works on 6.2 but not on 6.3
We have upgraded a box from 6.2 to 6.3-RELEASE. Afterwards the box does not
recognize its ST Lab I-160 serial card with Netmos 9845 Chipset. It worked
flawlessly on 6.2 with puc(4) driver.

use of SIP SHOW CHANNELS question
I am trying to figure out the correct syntax for the CLI command "SIP SHOW CHANNELS". I have tried
SIP SHOW CHANNELS SIP/200 and I've even tried to do this when a call is connected such as:
-- Zap/15-1 is ringing
-- Zap/15-1 answered SIP/206-4299
asterisk*CLI> sip show channel SIP/206-4299
No such SIP Call ID 'SIP/206-4299'
I always get the "No such SIP

correlation
What test do I use to determine if there is a correlation between a
discrete variable and a continuous variable?
For example - I have water quality ratings for streams (excellent,
good, fair, poor) and a corresponding nitrogen concentration for each
rating. I want to know if the the ratings correlate with the
concentration of nitrogen in the stream.
Help?

Long to wide format without time variable
Hi all,
I am trying to convert a data set of physician death codings (each individual's cause of death is coded by multiple physicians) from long to wide format, but the "reshape" function doesn't seem to work because it requires a "time" variable to identify the sequence among the repeated observations within individuals. My data set has no order, and different

Converting SAS Code
I have no problem setting up my mixed model, or performing anova or lsmeans
on my model?s outputs. However, performing lsd mean separation is giving me
fits.
So I do not have a problem when using two-way anova model. When using the
code:
fit.yield.add <- lm(data = ryzup, Yield ~ Rep + Nitrogen + Treatment)
LSD.test(fit.yield.add, trt = "Nitrogen", alpha = 0.1, console = TRUE)

Two Way ANOVA
Hi,
I am using the:
pcf.aov<-aov(meas~op+part, data=pcf.ex2),
command to perform a two way ANOVA. When I save the:
sumpcf<- summary.aov(pcf.aov),
result of the summary.aov command in a variable I need to access the
individual pieces of information in the summary. The summary appears
to be a list and I am having a hard time finding a way to get at the
information in the summary.
