Issues with libcurl + HTTP status codes (eg. 403, 404)
Hi Martin, Indeed it does (and I should have confirmed myself with R-patched and R-devel before posting...) Thanks, and sorry for the noise. Issues with libcurl + HTTP status codes (eg. 403, 404)
Hi all, The following fails for me (on OS X, although I imagine it's the same on other platforms using libcurl): options(download.file.method = "libcurl") options(repos = c(CRAN = "https://cran.rstudio.com/", CRANextra = "http://www.stats.ox.ac.uk/pub/RWin")) install.packages("lattice") ## could be any package gives me: >

In fact, this does reproduce on R-devel: > options(download.file.method = "libcurl") > options(repos = c(CRAN = "https://cran.rstudio.com/", CRANextra = + "http://www.stats.ox.ac.uk/pub/RWin")) > install.packages("lattice") ## could be any package Installing package into ?/Users/kevinushey/Library/R/3.3/library? Error in gzfile(file, mode) when checking a package with rcmd check
Hi, For the first time I have a strange behaviour when checking a package before 'packaging' the code. Looks like a file cannot be read. rcmd check pgirmess * using log directory 'U:/Documents and Settings/pgiraudo/Mes documents/R/pgir_arch/pgirmess_arch/On work/pgirmess.Rcheck' * using R version 2.13.2 (2011-09-30) * using platform: i386-pc-mingw32 (32-bit) * using session

RGoogleDocs stopped working
Hello, Some code using RGoogleDocs, which had been working smoothly since the summer, just stopped working. I know that it worked on November 3rd, but it doesn't work today. I've confirmed that the login and password still work when I log in manually. I've confirmed that the URL gives the same error when I paste it into Firefox. I don't know enough about this web service to figure

How to rbind list of vectors with unequal vector lengths?

new function to tools/utils package: dependencies based on DESCRIPTION file
Hi all, Packages tools and utils have a lot of useful stuff for R developers. I find one task still not as straightforward as it could. Simply to extract dependencies of a package from DESCRIPTION file (before it is even installed to library). This would be valuable in automation of CI setup in a more meta-data driven way. The simple function below, I know it is short and simple, but having it to

new function to tools/utils package: dependencies based on DESCRIPTION file
Dear Joris, So it does looks like the proposed function makes a lot sense then, isn't it? Fresh build from source of R-3.2.5 failing "make check" under 64-bit Ubuntu
Hi, Let me justify building R from source. While I can obtain R built for me under Ubuntu, I tend to build it from scratch as we use a NFS-shared build as well as shared R libraries for all the bioinfo staff at this company. Only one build and one set of packages to ensure uniformity across all workstations. My problem is that despite using a pretty standard build process, I am failing at the

tools::package_dependencies problems
Hello, All: tools::package_dependencies('Ecfun') failed to find how my development version of Ecfun was using rJava, which generated errors in "R CMD build Ecfun". This is because package_dependencies by default uses CRAN and ignores locally installed packages. What do you think about having this function check both locally installed and CRAN versions? It can

Feature Request: Multiline Comments
Hello, Is it possible to extend the R lexer/parser to include multiline comments like /* acomment */ ? This way I can integrate emacs org-mode with my R code, so that I can have a table of contents, section folding, html-output of source etc. e.g /* * Display Code */ #+BEGIN_SRC R foo <- function(...){ stuff } #+end_src and so on . Thanks Saptarshi

new function to tools/utils package: dependencies based on DESCRIPTION file
Hi Michael, Are you willing to accept patch for this? I'm already using this and few related functions for a while, it plays well. I could wrap it as patch to utils, or tools? Linking to native routines in other packages
Hello, I'm currently working on making Rcpp use the feature described here more: http://cran.r-project.org/doc/manuals/R-exts.html#Linking-to-native-routines-in-other-packages To give more context, Rcpp has for a long time built what we called "the Rcpp user library", i.e. a library we could link against user the linker. We were then producing appropriate linker flag with

creating a reverse geometric sequence
Hello, Can anyone think of a non-iterative way to generate a decreasing geometric sequence in R? For example, for a hypothetical function dg, I would like: > dg(20) [1] 20 10 5 2 1 where I am using integer division by 2 to get each subsequent value in the sequence. There is of course: dg <- function(x) { res <- integer() while(x >= 1) { res <- c(res, x) x

possible bug in win R-devel in check/test environment
Hi, During my recent r2sundials development, I've came across a strange test failing during 'R CMD check' exclusively on win R-devel which I could reproduce with a minimal example that I present here. The toy packages testarma1 [1] and testarma2 [2] are minimal modifications of a skeleton package produced by RcppArmadillo.package.skeleton(). They are almost identical. The first
