1st derivative {mgcv} gam smooth
Dear R-hep, I'm trying to get the first derivative of a smooth from a gam model like: model<-gam(y~s(x,bs="cr", k=5)+z) and need the derivative: ds(x)/dx. Since coef(model) give me all the parameters, including the parameters of the basis, I just need the 1st derivative of the basis s(x).1, s(x).2, s(x).3, s(x).4. If the basis were generated with the function

Dear List, i am trying to produce a 3d plot using wireframe using the code: wireframe(Residuals_FD ~ Elevation * Temperature, data = data2, scales = list(arrows = FALSE), drape = TRUE, colorkey = TRUE) As you can see when the code (using the data below) is run the plot area is set-up correctly but the actual surface is missing? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Chris #data Elevation

puppet: 3.1.1 -> 3.2.1 load increase
Hi, I recently updated from puppet 3.1.1 to 3.2.1 and noticed quite a bit of increased load on the puppetmaster machine. I''m using the Apache/passenger/rack way of puppetmastering. Main symptom is: higher load on puppetmaster machine (8 cores): - 3.1.1: around 4 - 3.2.1: around 9-10 Any idea why there''s more load on the machine with 3.2.1? -- You received this

make check failures (PR#2884)
R Version 1.7.0 Patched (2003-04-28), built on Solaris 2.8 with gcc 3.0.3. Obtained via rsync -rC rsync.r-project.org::r-patched R I'm not sure how signficant these difference are during development, but after an apparently successful build I got the following discrepancies in make check: make[3]: Entering directory `/export/home/ross/src/R/tests' running code in 'reg-tests-1.R'

summary(lm(x~y)) difference between R-2.2.1 and R-2.3.0
Hi [macOSX 10.4.6; R-2.3.0] I have encountered a difference in behaviour between R-2.2.1 and R-2.3.0 when performing a linear model. Transcript follows for R-2.3.0 (R-2.2.1 worked as expected). How to make R-2.3.0 perform as R-2.2.1 did? > dput(x) c(29.13, 29.88, 30.09, 29.99, 29.74, 29.64, 29.65, 29.7, 30.04, 29.89, 29.96, 29.65, 28.76, 28.41, 28.38, 29.55, 29.76, 29.75, 29.84,

source output differs from console output
Dear R-help, I would like to be able to run the following code sequence as a source routine. If I paste it into R via the clipboard it works as expected, but if I source the code instead then the last 3 statements fail. I've also tried writing to the file in place of the sink sequence, but that also hits a snag. R 1.6, w98e2, dfr is a data frame containing the content of Julian

SARIMA Model confrimation
Hi..   R Program is shown ARIMA output as below then SARIMA equation is be   (1 - 0.991B^{12})z_t + 43.557 = (1+0.37B)(1-0,915B^{12})a_t    But I try to calculate it by manual . It look like it 's big different from R sofeware,   I am not sure this equation is correct or not . PLS supoort me to confirm it   Arima Model ( 0,0,1)(1,0,1)   No Transformation Constant   >> 43.557 , t = 10.09
