ROR - Apache - FastCGI / Can''t see stylesheets or javascript
Folks ...
I have been porting my app from dev environment on Webrick to Apache
with FastCGI. I have the app responding and pulling up the data, but it
is ignoring the "images", "stylesheets", "javascripts" directories
located in the public directory.
I''m running Apache under Suse Linux 9.x. Here is the information that I
have in my vhosts.conf file:

Routing problems - Apache proxy vs. Webrick direct
I dropped the use of fastcgi because I could not get popen working (see
''[Rails] Apache2 and popen''). It works under WebBrick. Since CGI is too
slow, I thought I''d proxy to WebBrick via Apache.
I am having routing problems now with escaped slashes in the URL.
Here''s my routes.rb:
map.connect '''', :controller => "wiki"

apache server-status permission denied
Hey all,
I'm having a slightly weird issue with apache server-status on just one of
my nodes.
In my httpd.conf I have the following:
<Location /server-status>
SetHandler server-status
Order deny,allow
Deny from all
Allow from 127.0.0.1 10.10.160
</Location>
If I do a ps grep I know that I'm using the right config:

Apache not running Fcgid
I''m having the same problems as this fellow, Mr. Cheetham, in getting
my rails app up and running on apache2+fcgid. Webrick runs, but
dispatch.fcgi never actually runs, and apache spits out a grusome
"Premature end of script headers: dispatch.cgi" error message in the
log. Mr. Cheetham describes his problem at

Apache config help needed
Hi all,
I''m (STILL) plugging away trying to get rails to work under Apache2
Rails 0.9.5 Apache 2, OS Mandrake Linux 10.1
Apache is already running other stuff on /pluto/ and /localhost/ so I wish
to install a new virtual host for rails to avoid upsetting anything.
Added rails to my hosts file, and edited conf/Vhosts.conf to contain
NameVirtualHost 192.168.0.254

Proper Installation on Debian?
So I have been trying to follow the instructions on
http://www.debian-administration.org/articles/329 to get rails to be
running properly on my Debian machine, but I have been running into
several issues. The first one just being the version of RubyGems in the
Debian repos doesn''t seem to work while it does if I just install from
the tarball downloaded right from the RubyGems site.
