differents behaviour of packages depending on rJava under 32 and 64 bit versions of R 2.14.2
Hi listeRs,
Maybe I have missed something, but I am facing a problem I don't understand
even after reading archives and manuals (…maybe not carefully enough !) :
On my PC (64-bit OS, Intel Xeon CPU , two L5506@2.13 GHz processors, 12 Go
RAM) under Windows 7 SP1,
I run both 32-bit (i386-pc-mingw32/i386) and 64-bit (x86_64-pc-mingw32/x64)

Problem with .libPaths & Rterm.exe (under Vista)
Dear list,
I?m using R embedded in another program (coded in tcl/tk) under Windows
Vista. In this context I don?t launch Rgui.exe but rather Rtem.exe.
Now I have a problem finding libraries not specifically installed as
administrator (and which are not in the path ?program files? but in
Contacts\Documents of the current user). To be precise, the user
launching my tcl/tk program can?t find

Rcurl crash in R-devel
Hello,
I don't know if the problem originates from R-devel 3.2 or Rcurl itself.
I post this message to the R-devel list and to the author of RCurl

Silently loading an R package.
Hello.
I've been working an a binding between OCaml and R (i.e. calling R from
OCaml, mostly). See below for a taste of it.
I'm currently wondering how to load a given R package silently. I tried
require(xts, quietly = TRUE)
but I still get some ugly output. Is it possible to squeeze off this
output on stdout?
All the best,
Guillaume Yziquel.

Segfault and bad output with fOptions::rnorm.sobol
I have had the following problem with R 2.10, 2.13.1, and 2.13.2, running on
Ubuntu linux 10.04, xubuntu 11.10, and a version of Redhat (I think 5).
rnorm.sobol is producing impossible random values, and occasionally the
routine crashes. Here are samples of the output and the crash message.
library(fOptions)
Zs <- rnorm.sobol(50, dimension=1)
produces this:

lme4 and incomplete block design
Dear list members,
I try to simulate an incomplete block design in which every participants
receives 3 out of 4 possible treatment. The outcome in binary.
Assigning a binary outcome to the BIB or PBIB dataset of the package
SASmixed gives the appropriate output.
With the code below, fixed treatment estimates are not given for each of
the 4 possible treatments, instead a kind of summary

Help required: binomial option pricing using package
I'm using the CRRBinomialTreeOption function (in package "fOptions") with a
loop for pricing a large number of options. But I can't transfer the values
obtained from this function to a "numeric" matrix as the outcome of this
function is not a simple numeric.

lme4 package: Fitted values and residuals
Dear all,
I have three concerns:
1)
I am running models with the lme4 package. I cannot find a way to pull
out a vector of the fitted values and the residuals. Does anybody know
how to do it?
2)
How can I nest a random effect variable into a "two-level" fixed effect
variable?
3)
Suppose I have the following model:
y = a + b|c + d + error,
where 'a' is a fixed effect, 'c'

Yes. That's the version I've been discussing that has non-zero exit status.
That situation is why CRAN retired the prob package. It's possible you
installed that library earlier in development and it's been "carried"
along. It no longer installs, now.
The problems with all of this seem to have started this month according to
the conversations. However, no one has

The issue is fAsianOptions. Is there a version that works with the latest

Alternatively, is there another package that behaves similarly to prob?
