[LLVMdev] Question on X86 backend
Thanks Cristoph, I have that code in my backend, but unless I do the following, the registers are never considered 'live' into the call. / Handle a function call let isCall = 1, Defs = [ R0, R1, R2, R3, R4, R5, R6, R7, R8, R9, R10, R11, R12, R13, R14, R15, R16, R17, R18, R19, R20, R21, R22, R23, R24, R25, R26, R27, R28, R29, R30, R31, R32, R33, R34, R35, R36, R37, R38, R39, R40, R41,

Return dimension index from array with n-dimensions
Hi, I have been dealing with some problems finding a fast way of getting to know in what dimension a specific value is located out of an array (like the 'which' function for a vector returns its position). Unable to find anything about this on the internet I wrote a function myself. Could you please comment if such a function already exists, and if not, please feel free to comment the

issue with odfWeave running on Windows XP; question about installing packages under Linux
Good morning R community, I have two questions (and a comment): 1) A problem with odfWeave. I have an odf document with a table that spans multiple pages. Each cell in the table is populated using \sexpr{<R stuff>}. This worked fine on my own machine (windows 7 box using any R2.x.y, for x>=11) and on a colleagues machine (Windows XP box running R2.11.1). However, on a third machine

About princomp
Hi, I run the example for princomp for R211 I got the following error for biplot > ## The variances of the variables in the > ## USArrests data vary by orders of magnitude, so scaling is appropriate > (pc.cr <http://pc.cr> <- princomp(USArrests)) # inappropriate Erreur dans cov.wt(z) : 'x' must contain finite values only > princomp(USArrests, cor = TRUE) # =^=

Rpart decision tree
Dear useRs: I try to plot an rpart object but cannot get a nice tree structure plot. I am using plot.rpart and text.rpart (please see below) but the branches that connect the nodes overlap the text in the ellipses and rectangles. Is there a way to get a clean nice tree plot (as in the Rpart Mayo report)? I work under Windows and use R2.11.1 with rpart version 3.1-46. Thank you. Tudor ...

ctree
Hello, This is a re-submittal of question I submitted last week, but haven't rec'd any responses. I need to extract the probabilities used to construct the barplots displayed as part of the graph produced by plot("ctree"). For example, library(party) iris.ct <- ctree(Species ~ . , data = iris) plot(iris.ct) Instead of a simple example with only 4 terminal nodes, my

Plyr and memory allocation issue
Dear R users I am trying to create some new variables for a 4401 x 30 dataframe using ddply and transform. The "id" variable i am using is a factor with 1330 levles eg bb <- function(df) {transform(df, years = study.year - min(study.year) + 1, periods = length(study.year) )} test <- ddply(x,.(id),bb) I havent copied the data to avoid clogging the

Graphics Device; locator function
Hi, haven't been here for a while, but everyone one was always so helpful I thought I would ask you another really basic question. I'm running R2.9.1 in Ubuntu8.04 on a netbook (maxed out on memory etc so I don't think that's a problem - wth it's a Dell Mini 9" with that lpia non-architecture you told me about). Anyway, some of the graphics functions/parameters are

Interrupt R?
How can one interrupt the following gracefully: while(TRUE){ Sys.sleep(1) } In R2.11.1 under Emacs+ESS, some sequence of ctrl-g, ctrl-c eventually worked for me. Under Rgui 2.11.1, the only way I've found was to kill R. Suggestions on something more graceful? Beyond this, what would you suggest to update a real-time report when new data arrives in a certain

Packages built before R 2.10.0
Dear list, I am running R2.11.1 on 32 bit windows. I am receiving messages as follows ... > require(car) Loading required package: car Error: package 'car' was built before R 2.10.0: please re-install it The package kohonen was another example. This failure appears to be fatal and not only affects the package concerned, but also all its dependents. Is there anything I can do at my

Competing Risks Regression with qualitative predictor with more than 2 categories
Hello, I have a question regarding competing risk regression using cmprsk package (function crr()). I am using R2.9.1. How can I do to assess the effect of qualitative predictor (gg) with more than two categories (a,b,c) categorie c is the reference category. See above results, gg is considered like a ordered predictor ! Thank you for your help Jan > # simulated data to test > set.seed(10)

dotchart {graphics} 2.11.1 vs. 2.12.1
I have a factor vector of subject races (Asian, Black, Hispanic, White; n=30) that I want to plot with a Cleveland dotplot or dotchart. I tried the following in R2.12.1 : > dotchart(table(school$Race)) Error in plot.xy(xy.coords(x, y), type = type, ...) : invalid plot type Using the same data set in R2.11.1 the operation succeeded (I tried several variations to be sure): >

Plot creates a straigth line
Hello all, I am using 'plot' to create standard curves for elisa data. when I use 'plot' with type='b' i get the points connected with lines and one straigth line from the lowest datapoint to the highest data point. how can i avoid/remove it from the figure. i am using R2.9.1, below is the example of the data. od<-c(10, 8, 6,4,2,1, 10.5,7.8,6.4,3.8,2.1,0.95)

The time series analysis functions/packages don't seem to like my data
I have hundreds of megabytes of price data time series, and perl scripts that extract it to tab delimited files (I have C++ programs that must analyse this data too, so I get Perl to extract it rather than have multiple connections to the DB). I can read the data into an R object without any problems. thedata = read.csv("K:\\Work\\SignalTest\\BP.csv", sep = "\t", header =

invalid 'row.names' length error when running scatterplots or plot in R Commander
Hello, I teach statistics and use R Commander for teaching. I have 2 students out of 169 that can't get scatterplots or plot to work. I have had them update packages, restart R/R Commander/their computers and even reinstall R/R Commander. One is using Windows 7 on a new pc and the other is a pc user (not sure the OS). They are both using R2.11.1 and R Commander 1.6-0. The data look like

Length as fun.aggregate in cast function of reshape package: unexpected error
Dear Everyone, I am having problems with use of the reshape package's cast function using length as an aggregating function. Unexpectedly, I receive the error: 2 arguments passed to 'length' which requires 1 I don't understand this at all - the data I'm using is very simple, and appears almost identical to that used in the ChickWeight example in the package. The problem can

random number generator: same seed used in different sessions
I did several simulation sessions and the result turned out to be a surprise. After some investigation, I found that different R sessions of the program used the same seed. Simply, in R210, if I start R and type rnorm(1), I always get the same random number. This is contradictary to what is in the R document Initially, there is no seed; a new one is created from the current time when one

R Tools & Vista_x64: Problem compiling RMySQL?
Hello: What do I need to do to compile R packages (especially RMySQL) for the 64-bit version of R 2.12.0 under Vista_x64? I upgraded to "Rtools212.exe" yesterday but immediately got errors from "R CMD check RMySQL_0.7-5.tar.gz". After the first error, I installed it a second time, then got "undefined reference to" roughly 50 different names beginning
