estimate inverse gaussian in R
I have a one-variable data set in R. The plot of histogram of my numerical variable suggests an inverse gaussian distribution. How can I obtain best estimation for the two parameters of inverse gaussian based on my data? Thanks. -- View this message in context: http://n4.nabble.com/estimate-inverse-gaussian-in-R-tp949692p949692.html Sent from the R help mailing list archive at Nabble.com.

Looking for an image (R 64-bit on Linux 64-bit) on Amazon EC2
I have found an existing image on Amazon EC2 including R. But unfortunately, it is 32-bit R on 32-bit Linux. Does anybody know if there exists an mage (R 64-bit on Linux 64-bit) on Amazon EC2? Or how can I install 64-bit R on my own Linux instance there? Thanks. -- View this message in context:

How to generate PDF help file for our internal R package?
Currently, we have developed an R package for our company's internal use (at least for now). I have successfully built the package and generated zip file which can be easily installed. However, I am not sure how to generate the big HELP file in PDF. Right now, I have about 30+ Rd files for this internal package. I can run 'R CMD Rd2dvi' and WinEdt to create one pdf file

Decision Tree in Python or C++?
Have anybody used Decision Tree in Python or C++? (or written their own decision tree implementation in Python or C++)? My goal is to run decision tree on 8 million obs as training set and score 7 million in test set. I am testing 'rpart' package on a 64-bit-Linux + 64-bit-R environment. But it seems that rpart is either not stable or running out of memory very quickly. (Is it

Plotting 15 million points
Hi All I have a vector of about 15 million numbers which I would like to plot. The goal is the see the distribution. I tired the usual steps. 1. Histogram : never gets complete my window freezes w/out log base 10 2. Density : I first calculated the kernel density and then plotted it which worked. It would be nice to superimpose histogram with density but as of now I am not able to get this

Is AJAX/RJS secure enough for enterprise data hanling?
Sure, AJAX and RJS provide snappier performance by reducing the hits on the server. But, is it easily hacked in a RoR application? Can it be made as secure as a non-ajax web -app? -- Best Regards, -Larry "Work, work, work...there is no satisfactory alternative." --- E.Taft Benson -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... not enough disk space
ok, this is a problem I've been having reguardless of what program I try and install -- running programs works fine, but not installing them. The problem is when I try and install a program using wine, it says that there is not enough disk space. This doesn't really make sense as I've got loads of disk space all over the place: / -> 45gb free /mnt/max40 -> 5gb free wine's

Bug#587090: The patch is not enough
Also with an vfb line in the config things go wrong. In fact everywhere where posixpath.py functions get called without a valid actual parameter, it will crash as there will be no rfind method available. Personally, I think the posixpath.py should validate it's input and that that should be fixed. Kind regards, Stephan

Vegetarian enough?
Vegetarian enough? People often tell me about how they get grief from people who are "more" vegetarian than them. Isn''t that strange? People who can be bothered to make a life changing decision are then chastised by the super veggies for not trying hard enough. http://2site.com/agfdxz Road Map To Riches - Another 2-UP Scam Road Map To Riches is yet Another 2-Up scheme in

A program under WINE claims I don't have enough memory
I'm running Origin 7 Server (a scientific data & graph editing software) under Ubuntu 9.10. Installation was fine and I can read files and edit them, but as I try to save the simplest thing (which takes less than a MB) the program claims I have no disk space (I do have more than 10GB free). I have a 64GB solid-state hard drive on my Dell E6400 laptop. This problem persists no matter where

That is, any charts that have axis numbers, axis labels, or chart labels. If I keep the charts but delete all text, I can zoom out indefinitely without the error. If I navigate away from the chart with labels I am able to zoom out just fine. For some

Not enough disk space error?
Hi, I have installed Samba on a Debian machine. I have created 2 shares on these filesystems: /dev/hde3 71G 33M 71G 1% /storage/1 /dev/hdg1 75G 8.8G 66G 12% /storage/2 As you can see, both have in excess of 60GB free space. When I try to copy files to the filesystems via Samba, an artificial limit is being imposed - at around 8.8GB. From windows I get
