Stacked barplot with two stacked bars besides each other
Hi, I have a particular barplot I would like to generate, but I am having trouble getting it to work. What I would like is in effect two barplots with stacked bars merged into one. For example, I have two samples (yoda1,yoda2) on which I measure whether two variables (var1,var2) are present or absent for a number of measurements on that sample. > var1 <- data.frame(yoda1=c(3,7),

I want my row name to be a variable
Hi R users Imagine this data.frame: >X Var1 Var2 A 22 13 B 5 2 C 12 8 D 1 99 A,B,C,D are the rows names (or index) Is there a way to create a new variable in this data frame which name is Var3 and which contains the rows names: Var1 Var2 Var3 A 22 13 A B 5 2 B C 12 8 C D 1 99

adding labels above bars in a barplot
Hello, I want to make a general routine to draw barplots with numbers plotted above each bar. See the example below. I could not place the numbers on the middle of each bar because I could not calculate the right position of each x-axis tick. axTicks(1) indicated a unitary step, but it does not seem work. I appreciate any help or suggestions. Best regards, Antonio Olinto

Getting total bar's label & value labels in a barplot
Hi, I have been trying to get the label under the total column - i.e. a mean value of columns 2 to 6 - in a barplot I generate with this script: t1 <- tapply(A, B, sum) t1[8] <- mean(t1[2:6]) t1 <- as.table(t1) barplot(t1, ylim=c(0,3000)) mtext("Var1", side = 1, line = 3) mtext("Var2", side = 2, line = 3) I have been trying to use axis(1, at=1:8,

Select rows based on multiple comparisons
Dear all, I have a data set in which the same unit appears 2 or 3 or 4 times. I need to aggregate this data to maintain only one unit by row. But I need to do that based on a comparison between the values of such units. I can't find a function to help me on that. I appreciate any help. Below I provide an example of what I want: This is my data: Units Var1 Var2 Var3 1 B 2

Latin hypercube sampling from a non-uniform distribution
Hello, I am performing a sensitivity analysis using a Latin Hypercube sampling. However, I have difficulty to draw a Hypercube sample for one variable. I?ve generated this variable from a Poisson distribution as follows: set.seed(5) mortality_probability <- round(ppois(seq(0, 7, by = 1), lambda = 0.9), 2) barplot(mortality_probability, names.arg = seq(0, 7, by = 1), xlab = "Age

More elegant way of excluding rows with equal values in any 2 columns?
Hello, dear R-ers! I built a data frame "grid" (below) with 4 columns. I want to exclude all rows that have equal values in ANY 2 columns. Here is how I am doing it: index<-expand.grid(1:4,1:4,1:4,1:4) dim(index) # Deleting rows that have identical values in any two columns (1 line of code):

converting a character vector to a function's input
Hi all, I have been trying to solve this problem and have had no luck so far. I have numeric vectors VAR1, VAR2, and VAR3 which I am trying to cbind. I also have a character vector "VAR1,VAR2,VAR3". How do I manipulate this character vector such that I can input a transformed version of the character vector into cbind and have it recognize that I'm trying to refer to my numeric

Bug in colnames of data.frames?
Hi, I am using R 1.9.1 on on i686 PC with SuSE Linux 9.0. I have a data.frame, e.g.: > myData <- data.frame( var1 = c( 1:4 ), var2 = c (5:8 ) ) If I add a new column by > myData$var3 <- myData[ , "var1" ] + myData[ , "var2" ] everything is fine, but if I omit the commas: > myData$var4 <- myData[ "var1" ] + myData[ "var2" ] the name

stacked plot
Hi! I am trying to use ggplot2 to create a stacked bar plot. Previously I tried using barplot() but gave up because of problems with the positioning of the legend and other appearance problems. I am now trying to learn ggplot2 and use it for all the plots that I need to create for my dissertation. I am able to create normal bar plots using ggplot2, but I am stomped with the stacked bar plots.

Buenas noches Javier y José, Estoy en contra de usar attach(), asi que propongo la siguiente alternativa con with(): # paquete require(epicalc) # los argumentos en ... pasan de epicalc:::cc # ver ?cc para mas informacion foo <- function(var1, var2, var3, ...){ or1 <- cc(var1, var2, ...) or2 <- cc(var1, var3, ...) list(or1 = or1, or2 = or2) } # datos x <-

list to dataframe conversion-testing for identical

crear variable en base a nombre de columnas que tienen un 1
Buenos días. Hoy ando un poco (o bastante) espeso y no doy con la tecla de una cosa que seguro que es muy simple.. Pongo un ejemplo. var1 <- c(rep(0,3),rep(1,2)) var2 <- c(rep(1,2),0,0,1) var3 <- c(rep(1,2),rep(0,3)) var4 <- c(rep(1,2),rep(0,3)) datos <- data.frame(fila=1:5,var1, var2, var3, var4) datos datos fila var1 var2 var3 var4 1 1 0 1 1 1 2 2 0

Saludos El

Sampling dataframe
