NetBIOS wildcard queries repeated by wireless access points
I am trying to resolve a problem with NetBIOS wildcard broadcast queries being relayed/repeated by around 50 US Robotics wireless access points. The APs only re-broadcast wildcard queries from our samba3 server - our numerous windows 2003 servers do not appear to use wildcard broadcast queries (if they do, they are not causing the same problems). Any help would be appreciate as this problem is

Is that kind of setup possible, if so how. This unit is always on - I just want whichever network is active and faster to be the active

Is R the right choice for simulating first passage times of random walks?
Dear R folks, I need to simulate first passage times for iterated partial sums. The related papers are for example [1][2]. As a start I want to simulate how long a simple random walk stays negative, which should result that it behaves like n^(-?). My code looks like this. -------- 8< -------- code -------- >8 -------- n = 100000 # number of simulations length = 100000 # length of

Logging on is running at pretty quick speeds (no slower than my PC used to be logging on to Novell without roaming profiles). We also have a wireless network that is running on a different subnet and is connected to the main network using a vpn tunnel. The delimiting factor here

IPX works via wired network, not via wireless
Hi All, I have installed Atomic Bomberman as described here: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Atomic_bomberman When I connect 2 PC's running linux via networkcables and a switch, IPX works perfectly. I start the game on both PC's, set PC A to "Start Network game" via IPX, and PC B to "Join network game". Now PC B can see the game of PC A, connect to it, and then

CentOS 5.2 -- how do I choose a wireless network?
Hi. We have a Windows laptop that has gotten too slow, it's borderline unusable, so I burned a CentOS 5.2 32-bit Live CD, just to try it out in the home. It boots up fine, but it does not connect to the Internet... Now we normally connect through a wireless network, there are several around here -- on the Windows box we choose the network to which to connect... but on CentOS there is

Wireless Made Easy (for Home Desktops)
For those of you who use a wireless router and may work on one or two (or even several) machines in your computer room, an AP Client is a nice solution. When you move to another machine you can just move the wireless net adapter to the new machine and you're up and running on the network immediately. I've been using a D-Link G730AP for a while -- but it's not really made for this --
