Error bar
Hi there, Using the code below I generated the plot attached. The error bars at day = -3, 2 and 4 appear are larger. I was thinking if there is a way I could make all the error bars to be of the same size. I don't know if that makes sense. If not, then, is there a way I can plot only these 3 largest errorbars at day axis (day = -3, 2 and 4) and omit the rest of the error bars. I would be much

Help with plotting error bars in R
Hi, I'm sorry to send email to everyone on this list, but I have a simple question which is bothering me and I can't seem to figure out the correct answer. I just downloaded R and I'm trying to reproduce some simple analysis I've done on other packages. In particular, if I have a vector of experimental values and a vector of their uncertainties, is there a way to plot the

plotCI
Hi R masters! I need a Help with plot confidence intervals for one equation. I use library gplots and plotCI command in this script: require(gplots) ano <-1980:2002 rf<-exp(91.37162-0.04720281*ano) ciw.f<-sqrt(1.766073e-08) plotCI(ano,rf,uiw=ciw.f) But in the graph not shown the errors bar and I have this error msg zero-length arrow is of indeterminate angle and so skipped

Student Distribution and Funtion qt
Hello, I am trying to calculate and plot mean and confidence intervall for a set of data. This is the code that I am currently using: means <- sapply(data, mean, na.rm=TRUE) n <- sapply(data,length) stdev <- sqrt(sapply(data, var, na.rm=TRUE)) ciw <- qt(0.98, n) * stdev / sqrt(n) par(mgp=c(2,0.6,0), las=2, fin=c(7,3), mai=c(1,0.5,0.2,0.2), cex=0.8) plotCI(x=means, uiw=ciw,

A function for plotting a boxplot with added dot and bars (for mean and SE) - please help improve my code
Hello people, A while back I wanted to plot boxplots with interactions that will have a dot for the mean of the sample + bars for the SE. After searching for some code, I found something that did it for one level, but couldn't find something that will allow for interactions the way the original boxplot does. After playing with the original code, I found a way for allowing the boxplot code to

break error bars in ggplot2
Hello, i use ggplot to plot some measures including CIs as horizontal errorbars. I get an error when the scale limits are narrower than the boundaries of the error bar and hence the CIs are not plotted. library(ggplot2) df <- data.frame(resp=c(1,2), k=c(1,2), se=c(1,2)) ggplot(df, aes(resp,y=k)) + geom_point() + geom_errorbarh(aes(xmax = resp + se, xmin = resp - se)) +

How to plot error bars
I'm a newcomer to R. I can't seem to find any documentation how to add error bars to points in scatter plots. I guess I could plot the points, then compute and plot line segments in the X and/or Y directions to represent the errors? - Mike -.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.- r-help mailing list -- Read

ggplot2, 'se' variable in geom_errorbar's limits?
Dear R-list I'm working with with geom_errorbar; specifically I'm trying to reproduce the example Hadley Wickham have on http://had.co.nz/ggplot2/geom_errorbar.html (all in the button of the page) where he makes an nice plot with errorbars and then draw lines between the points. What confuses me is the 'limits' he defines for the errorbars from the se variable. First he creates

several plots in one
Can anyone tell me how I can supply more than one graph to plotCI (gplots) at once? Below is what I tried, also with rbind instead of cbind. What is the way to do this (in general, I think)? Problem is that lines of 1-st and 2-nd series are mixed, while they have nothing to do with each other. I also tried calling plotCI with argument add=TRUE, which didn't seem to work (that is actually

Break in the y-axis
Hello all, I have been having trouble getting a break in my y-axis. All of my data points are up around 100-200, but the graph has to start at zero, so i would like to remove all the white space using a break symbol. I have been able to get the break and labels to be correct, however, I can't seem to get the data to match the axis anymore. I must be using the axis.break() in plotrix

How to plot doubles series with different location using plotCI
Dear list members, I would like to create two series of plotted mean values and error bars, yet with different locations along the x-axis. Plotting of first series using plotCI with the standard arguments goes without any problem. However I do not succeed to add the second series in the same plot, which should be horizontally shifted from the first series along the x-axis. The “add=TRUE”

Dovecot rc23 and rc24 freeze after authentication
I had our production systems running on rc23, however we ran into problems when the server was under heavy load. Eventually, the server would begin to freeze all imap connection after authentication (according to the logs). A user would connect, authentication would succeed, and then the connection would sit until timing out. No error logs were produced. Upgrading to rc24 did not

Errorbars
Hi, Does anyone know how i get rid of the marker point in my error bars? The bars default function (it seems) is to have a dot in the middle of the bar, however i don't want it there. I am using Hmis to draw my errorbars and code is a<-as.vector(tapply(Sporangia,list(Host,Isolate),mean)) b<-as.vector(tapply(Sporangia,list(Host,Isolate),sd)) c<-sqrt(b/36)
