Index-G1 error
I am using some functions from package clusterSim to evaluate the best clusters layout. Here is the features vector I am using to cluater 12 signals: > alpha.vec [1] 0.8540039 0.8558350 0.8006592 0.8066406 0.8322754 0.8991699 0.8212891 [8] 0.8815918 0.9050293 0.9174194 0.8613281 0.8425293 In the following I pasted an excerpt of my program:

package clusterSim
I am interested in familiarizing with the functions belonging to paclage clusterSim. This package on-line documentation indicates a file pathname which is clear to me on Linux systems where $VAR identifies VAR as an environment variable. But what if I am using a Windows system ? I do not know how to make Windows or DOS resolve the following address:

Problem with SAGx Library
Dear All: I am a newbie to R and as such i am posting this request for help. I am trying to use R to compute the "Calinski Harabasz (CH) Index ". The CH Index is available in the library SAGx. The version of R i am running is 2.2.1. I have my data in a CSV format which i read into R using the read.table() command. After the data has been read i am loading in the "SAGx"

Calinsky and Harabasz Index for Cluster Determination with Diana in R
Hello all, I have a set of data points, which I have pair distances for. I managed to create dendrogram for this data set using diana() in R, however this only gives me the tree and not the clusters themselves. I am trying to determine clusters using Calinsky and Harabasz Index (CH Index). I, however, cannot find how to accomplish this using R. Is there anyone who could help me with this? I

Cluster Analysis
Hi, I was wondering what the best equivalent to SAS's FASTCLUS and PROC CLUSTER would be. I need to be able to test the significance of the clusters by comparing the probability of obtaining an equal or greater pseudo F to the Bonferroni-corrected level. I will also need to plot r squared against the number of clusters. Thanks so much, Taisa [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

Clustering and Calinski's index
I have to solve a clustering problem. My first step is to determinate the number of clusters, that's why I 'm using the Calinski index ( [tr(b)/(k-1)]/[tr(w)/(k-1)] ) which i try to maximize to have the best number of clusters. A function is already implemented in R to calculate this index : clustIndex(cl,x, index="calinski") where cl is the result of a clustering method ,

NMDS plot and Adonis (PerMANOVA) of community composition with presence absence and relative intensity
Hi! Thanks for providing great help in R-related statistics. Now, however I'm stuck. I'm not a statistics person but I was recommended to use R to perform a nmds plot and PerMANOVA of my dataset. Sample(treatment) in the columns and species (OTU) in the rows. I have 4 treatments (Ambient Temperature, Ambient temperature+Low pH, High temperature, High temperature+low pH), and I have 16

Package cclust error
Hello, here is my problem, After looking at the mail archives, I found a description of the error I get when I use this package. At first I even tought that they were showing how to solve it. But the thing is that by saying "the programmer forgot drop=FALSE" doesn't show me how I should get rid of the problem I have looked inside the package very quickly and I found three

50993 point distance matrix, too big to as.matrix, looking for another way to calculate point-level summary
Hello, Im working on a 50933 point count bird abundance dataset. I've succeeded in calculating a distance matrix for this entire set, but I don't have sufficient memory to convert this to a matrix, as below... abun.dist <- dist(abun.mat[1:50993,1:235) test <- rowMeans(as.matrix(abun.dist)) Error in matrix(0, size, size) : too many elements specified ive been able to run a hclust()

Package portability issues
We have some new Solaris boxes (both Sparc and amd64), and as they are not yet in production use I borrowed some time on them to run tests over CRAN packages, using the Solaris make and Sun Studio compilers. The results were quite depressing. Sun Studio 12 compilers are also available for Linux, and there the problems are worse (for C++ code). Line endings ============ We checked in R CMD

GSoC 2017 Project Proposal
Hello devs. I would like to propose how I plan to go about improving and getting a system that can be integrated into Xapian in this GSoC for the clustering branch. I have identified three areas of work which were not touched last time. 1) Automated Performance Analysis I had roughly implemented 2 evaluation techniques previously (Distance b/w document and centroids within clusters and

Difference between DAHDI/G1/0123456789 and DAHDI/g1/0123456789
Hello, Groups in asterisk are summarized here ( http://www.voip-info.org/wiki/view/Channels+and+Groups). Is there any difference between DAHDI/G1/0123456789 and DAHDI/g1/0123456789 (as I've been advised in another thread, to switch from one notation to the other and I can't see the reason behind that) ? Clustering Large Applications..sort of
Hello all, I am using the clustering functions in R in order to work with large masses of binary time series data, however the clustering functions do not seem able to fit this size of practical problem. Library 'hclust' is good (though it may be sub par for this size of problem, thus doubly poor for this application) in that I do not want to make assumptions about the number of

preferences in used Compaq Proliant DL380 G1 vrs DL380 G2 etc
greetings, for those of you in the know, may i have some assistance in helping to make better decisions in purchasing more used server toys to install CentOS on please? :-) in the Compaq Proliant Rackmount DL380 line, the one that looks like the older 1850R is called a G1 meaning Generation 1 right? and then the DL380 G2 is a redesign that is gray and just has 6 drive bays up front correct?

Help!!! Agnes dendogram (Clustering)
The data "one" is a vector of 553 observations agglone<-agnes(one, metric = "manhattan", stand = TRUE) plot(agglone,which.plots=2, nmax=150) My problem is in the dendogram, I can not see the nodes because it is too crowded. I have attached the diagram. Any help is more than welcome. Thank you a lot!!!

Agnes Help
Hi, I'm trying to use the cluster package and I'm having some trouble... I always get the message: > myagnes <- agnes("datafile.dat") > Error: could not find function "agnes" the package cluster is listed in the library() command, and I can reach the help files from Agnes as well I know that this can be some really easy thing to fix, but right now I have no
