RFC: A proposal for vectorizing loops with calls to math functions using SVML
RFC: A proposal for vectorizing loops with calls to math functions using SVML (short vector math library). ========= Overview ========= Very simply, SVML (Intel short vector math library) functions are vector variants of scalar math functions that take vector arguments, apply an operation to each element, and store the result in a vector register. These vector variants can be generated by the

RFC: A proposal for vectorizing loops with calls to math functions using SVML
Hi Sanjay, For sincos calls, I’m currently just going through isTriviallyVectorizable(), which was good enough to get things working so that I could test the translation. I don’t see why this cannot be changed to use addVectorizableFunctionsFromVecLib(). The other functions that I’m working with are already vectorized using the loop pragma. Those include sin, cos, exp, log, and pow. From: Sanjay

packages installation failed on Linux
Hi all, I've successfully compiled R-1.2 on a Linux box (Mandrake 7.1). However, when I installed packages from sources, I run into problems with the packages logspline and tseries. The error messages are as follows. Can anyone help? The compiler is gcc 2.95.3, if that helps. Andy ================================================ Installing source package `logspline' ... libs gcc

[LLVMdev] LLVM2.2 x64 JIT trouble on VStudio build
Hola LLVMers, I'm debugging through some strangeness that I'm seeing on X64 on windows with LLVM2.2. I had to change the code so that it would engage the x64 target machine on windows builds, but I've otherwise left LLVM 2.2 alone. The basic idea is that I've got a function bar which is compiled by VStudio and I'm creating another function foo via LLVM JIT which is going

R keeps crashing when executing 'rlogspline'
Dear List, I have a simple model as follows: x <- rnorm(500) library(logspline) fit <- logspline(x) n <- 1000000 y <- replicate(n, sum(rlogspline(rpois(1,10), fit))) # last line The problem I keep getting is R crashes when doing the last line. It seems to be fine if n is small, but not if n is 1000000. The message I keep getting is: "R for Windows GUI front-end has

Deparsing part of a list argument
Here's a simple example of the type of function I'm trying to write, where the first argument is a list of functions: myfun <- function(funlist, vec){ tmp <- lapply(funlist, function(x)do.call(x, args = list(vec))) names(tmp) <- names(funlist) tmp } > myfun(list("Summation" = sum, prod, "Absolute value" = abs), c(1, 4, 6, 7)) $Summation [1]

Evaluation of functionals
Suppose I have f1 <- function(x) x f2 <- function(x) x^2 funlist <- list(f1,f2) Then I would like to evaluate funlist such that when x is 10 I should get a list with 10 and 100. A naive way of doint this is myf <- funlist[[1]] do.call(paste(quote(myf)), list(x=10)) myf <- funlist[[2]] do.call(paste(quote(myf)), list(x=10)) - but there has to be much

To Try or to TryCatch, I have tried to long
So after about 4 hours struggling with Try and TryCatch I am throwing in the towel. I have a more complicated function that used logspline through iterative distributions and at some point the logspline doesnt function correctly for some subsets but is fine with others so I need to be able to identify when the error occurs and stop curtailing the distribution and I think this Try or TryCatch

oldlogspline probabilities
I using oldlogspline (from logspline package) to model data distributions, and having a problem. My data are search area sizes. They are based on circular search radii from random points to the nearest edge of the nearest grass tussock. Search area sizes are distributed from 0 (the random point intercepts a tussock) and upwards (as points are further from any tussocks). The density of all my

R 1.2.0 : logspline does not install from install.packages(). Missing #include | library ? (PR#775)
Full_Name: Emmanuel Charpentier Version: 1.2.0 OS: Linux 2.2.18 (Debian 2.2) Submission from: (NULL) (193.251.31.31) When trying "mass" installation of available packages, the package logspline does not compile, at least when installed through install.packages("logspline"). It seems that it is a small bug, such a missing #include <math.h> or -libm linking switch ?

[LLVMdev] Code generation support in llvm for windows phone
Hi, Is there support available in llc to convert llvm bytecode to Windows Mobile binary? I have tried triples like arm-pc-win32 , thumbv7-window ... but the object file generated is not getting linked to the windows native project. Any pointers will be greatly appreciated? Thanks, ~rajat -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

[LLVMdev] Code generation support in llvm for windows phone
I am talking about Windows Mobile 8 and 8.1 and not CE. Not sure though that the Windows 8 (ARM NT) is similar to Windows Mobile 8 platform. I used the following command to generate the obj file Llc.exe -mtriple=thumbv7-windows -filetype=obj <some_name>.bc The object file generated in the above object doesn't get linked when I try to link it with the windows mobile library as it

Replace brick of a dead node
Hi! Seeking pardon from the experts, but I have a basic usage question that I could not find a straightforward answer to. I have a two node cluster, with two bricks replicated, one on each node. Lets say one of the node dies and is unreachable. I want to be able to spin a new node and replace the dead node's brick to a location on the new node. The command 'gluster volume

[LLVMdev] Code generation support in llvm for windows phone
Hi Saleem, I have a similar situation - I'd appreciate your inputs on it. I noticed that the obj file generated using llvm does not contain "thumb" instructions. I suspect that is what is causing runtime crash for me. Here's what I've tried - Start with a.c (on my linux machine where I have llvm/clang built as of yesterday) int add(int i, int j) {int k

Upgrading from Rails 1.3.x to 2.3.2 - text_field_with_auto_complete not working
Folks, I am trying to upgrade code base from 1.3.x to 2.3.2 and not surprisingly, lot of things are broken. ''text_field_with_auto_complete'' is not working for me - it gives the following error: ActionView::TemplateError (undefined method `text_field_with_auto_complete'' for #<ActionView::Base: 0x7f0ceb6b8290>) I already have installed auto_complete - ruby

[LLVMdev] Code generation support in llvm for windows phone
Thank you so much Saleem, The target is Windows phone 8.1 (ARM). I'll update the crash details tomorrow. One big problem is that I have to use a physical windows phone for execution. I wonder if it is possible to execute such "exes" using qemu. Regards, Kashyap On Sun, Jun 8, 2014 at 2:53 AM, Saleem Abdulrasool <compnerd at compnerd.org> wrote: > On Sat, Jun 7, 2014 at
