coefficients of each local polynomial from locfit
Hi list, This was asked a couple of years ago but I can't find a resolution. Is there any way to get the coefficients from one of the local polynomial fits in locfit. I realize that locfit only constructs polynomials at a handful of intelligently selected points and uses interpolation to predict any other points. I would like to know the terms of the polynomials at these points. It seems

locfit confidence intervals
hi, after m=locfit(y~x,..........., family=binomial) plot(m,band="local") gives me a plot of locfit's result with a confidence interval around it. i would like to get the actual values that are being used to plot the lines in this figure. i tried using predict, but the standard error it returns when i supply the se=T argument, appears not to be the same as the CI produced by

Another question on locfit
Hello!!! Thank you all for your suggestion on my last question about locfit. Now I have another question: I would like to change the evalution structure ev in locfit() to a vector/matrix. I created a vector and a matrix: > vec <- mat.or.vec(101, 1) > vec <- c(0:100) > mat <- matrix(data = vec, nrow = 101, ncol = 1) and I tried to change the ev parameter: > fit <-

Some problems with R and/or locfit
Hello, Here is a problem I have had trying to install locfit, the package for R. I have already contacted Clive Loader who thinks the problem has more to do with R than locfit, so here is the point : The version of R I am currently running is R-base-0.90 that I installed using the R-base-0.90.1-1.i386.rpm package. I dowloaded the locfit package available at the CRAN site and ran : R INSTALL

plot gam "main effect functions" in one graph
Dear R users, I have a question about the plot with the package gam. I need to plot different main effect functions, related to different gam models, in the same graphics (i.e. the same covariate about different models). I used the plot.gam e preplot.gam documentations. Using preplot.gam I can plot the single function but I'm not able to put all the functions together. Does anybody can help

Java/MIDP Vorbis player ?
Hi! Is there any Java Vorbis player that works on MIDP 2.0 platforms (mobile phones) ? I know the pure Java players, but I'm looking for a mobile version. fGarch
Hi, I am attempting to fit a ARMA/GARCH regression model without success. ### ARIMA-GARCH model with regressor ### ### Time series data: A multivariate data set. cov.ts.dq = cov.ts[1:4,"dq1"][!is.na(cov.ts[,"dq1"])] cov.ts.day = ts.intersect(dq = diff(q.ts), day = lag(q.ts, -1)) ### The following R scripts work: (summary(no.day.fitr <- garchFit(dq ~ arma(0,3) +

Simple question.....
Hi all user R, My simple question is...I have a vector of names of predictors, text<-c("datem","cola","eslom")...I try to plot the model with this predictor in sequence loop...., for(i in 1:3){ png(paste("fig_",i,sep="")) plot(preplot.gam(mod9)[[i]],se=T,rug=F,main="",xaxt="n",ylab="",xlab="")

bug found in predict.locfit in locfit package ( PR#8057)
Apologies for the coming to this late... 1. By now I hope Somkiat has realized that R-bugs is not the place to report problems in contributed packages. Please direct such reports to the package maintainer. 2. This is really user error. predict() expect the newdata to be a data frame containing variables with the same names as those used in the fitting process. E.g., you fitted the model with

GAM with Locfit components
Hi, I?m trying to combine the Locfit Package with the Mgcv package (to use Generalized Additive Models with Locfit components). I read the book written by Clive Loader where it?s said that, for the S language, you just have to "load" the locfit package using the command : Library(locfit, first="T") in order to use locfit components in an additive model. But I can?t. I guess

Problem with locfit( ... , family="hazard")
I'm having difficulties with plot.locfit.3d, at least I think that is the problem. I have a large dataframe (about 4 MM cases) and was hoping to see a non-parametric estimate of the hazard plotted against two variables: > fit <- locfit(~surv.yr+ ur_protein + ur_creatinine, data=TRdta, cens = 1-death, family = "hazard", xlim=c(0,10)) # it took somewhere between 1 and 2

The Claw Density and LOCFIT
I am trying to reproduce Figure 10.5 of Loader's book: Local Regression and Likelihood. The code provided in the book does not seem to work. I have managed (a while ago) to get the accompanied R-code for the figures in the book (file called lffigs.R) from somewhere - cannot find it on the web anymore. The code in the .R script file does not work either. Could anybody please direct me in

package loading smooth.lf (LOCFIT), couldn't find functio n "smooth.lf"
The version of locfit on the web site mentioned apparently has been revised by Prof. Loader, and is newer than the CRAN version that I have been maintaining. If Prof. Loader is OK with it, I will take a look and see if I can get the new version into CRAN-conforming form and upload to CRAN. Meanwhile, make sure you're using the package from Prof. Loader's web page, instead of the one on

LOCFIT: What's it doing?
Dear R-users, One of the main reasons I moved from GAUSS to R (as an econometrician) was because of the existence of the library LOCFIT for local polynomial regression. While doing some checking between my former `GAUSS code' and my new `R code', I came to realize LOCFIT is not quite doing what I want. I wrote the following example script:

Confidence interval for relative risk
The concrete problem is that I am refereeing a paper where a confidence interval is presented for the risk ratio and I do not find it credible. I show below my attempts to do this in R. The example is slightly changed from the authors'. I can obtain a confidence interval for the odds ratio from fisher.test of course === fisher.test example === > outcome <- matrix(c(500, 0, 500, 8),

seq()
HI: Could someone help me with the seq function? I have a range of values starting from 1 to 52 but I want seq to start at 27 by=2, but when it reaches 51 start with with number 1 to 25. is this possible. I can do the basics of seq() but I can't figure how to do this one. This is how I want my sequence to look like: 27 29 31 33 35 37 ............51 1 3 5 7 9 11 13 ...........25 Felipe D.

R-beta: locfit package.
I was wondering if someone could help me with a problem getting locfit running. I am running Digital Unix 3.2D on an alphastation, with R 0.61.1 I downloaded the CRAN distribution of locfit. I had no problems installing it with R INSTALL (I installed it into my library rather than the default base library; the output is attached at the end of this email message). I then tried to test it with the
