I'm working on a graphic but have run into a road block about two issues. I don't have a color printer so I want to produce the graphic in black and white. I'm currently using this statement trellis.device(bg="white") but the body of the graphic contains color. What is the code to create the whole thing in black and white. Hi all, I am trying to make tiff files of lattice plots at a resolution greater than 300 dpi required by a journal (PLoS ONE). I have tried both the tiff and bitmap functions. tiff keeps panel colors but reduces axes and tick labels so they are nearly invisible. bitmap maintains correct label size but only produces greyscale. Regular plots work fine with tiff; the problem is only with lattice

I am using lattice to make figures as pdfs: trellis.device(device = "pdf",file = "Figure6.pdf",color = FALSE) I need to specify some blank space on the left-hand margins (the pages will be bound so we need about 0.5 inch)). I wonder if we couldn't just use the PNG , SVG, support from the GNU plotutils from which we already have the Hershey scalable vector fonts [-> help(Hershey)] The new plotutils (July 2000) do support these (and will probably even better in the future, i.e., we can build on others people free software.
