A couple metrics of LLD/ELF's performance
These numbers were collected on Rafael's clang-fsds test case (however, I removed -O3 and --gc-sections) with a command like: ``` sudo perf record --event=cache-misses --call-graph=dwarf -- /home/sean/pg/llvm/release/bin/ld.lld @response.txt -o /tmp/t --no-threads ``` And then ``` sudo perf report --no-children --sort dso, srcfile ``` One annoying thing about these numbers from perf is that

RFC: LNT/Test-suite support for custom metrics and test parameterization
I understood your modules and I see as them can be used in LNT. But there are some question about old features. 1. With Makefiles we can write pass and collect some statistics. There was an example of branch pass. Metrics can be collected by @-$(LOPT) -load dcc888$(SHLIBEXT) -branch-counter -stats \ -time-passes -disable-output $< 2>>$@ in makefile. In report file we write how

how to run all tests AND metric_fu
i want to use cruisecontrol.rb to run ?rake test? (every time a new revision is in the svn repo) and ?rake metrics:all? (let?s say every 24 hours). how do i have to configure cruisecontrol.rb? both rake tasks work. however, when i configure cruisecontrol.rb as described on the metric_fu website, i.e. add ''project.rake_task = ?metrics:all? project.scheduler.polling_interval =

RFC: LNT/Test-suite support for custom metrics and test parameterization
Hi Elena, > First of all, now LNT uses make-style of running tests and parse results from result csv file. Are there any plans to go to cmake? There are two test drivers in LNT. "lnt runtests nt" uses the old Makefile-based system and "lnt runtests test-suite" uses the new cmake-based system. It sounds like you are using the former and should switch to the latter.

RFC: LNT/Test-suite support for custom metrics and test parameterization
Hi Matthias, Thank you for your answer. But can you answer for some more questions? First of all, now LNT uses make-style of running tests and parse results from result csv file. Are there any plans to go to cmake? As I understood lit will run and collect all metrics, but there is no opportunity to make any settings for choosing what metrics I would like to collect. Test reports files allow to

RFC: LNT/Test-suite support for custom metrics and test parameterization
Hi, Chris. Thank you for your answer about compile tests. As I understood during looking through code of compile tests they don’t use test suite at all. Am I right? There is lack of information and examples of running compile tests in LNT documentation. We understood that there are two groups of users: users using servers and collecting a lot of data and SQLite users, but these users as I think

How to compare two residual variances coming from two independent simple regression analyses ?
Hello,   I'd like to compare the predictive power of two independent simple regression models, which relate to data sets with different numbers of points (n1 and n2). I think I could use a F-test to compare both residual variances, but I don't know whether it's a good idea or not. To my opinion, the numbers of degrees of freedom for the F-test would be respectively the number of

Document clustering for R
I'm working on a project related to document clustering. I know that R has clustering algorithms such as clara, but only supports two distance metrics: euclidian and manhattan, which are not very useful for clustering documents. I was wondering how easy it would be to extend the clustering package in R to support other distance metrics, such as cosine distance, or if there was an API for

LDA with previous PCA for dimensionality reduction
Dear all, not really a R question but: If I want to check for the classification accuracy of a LDA with previous PCA for dimensionality reduction by means of the LOOCV method: Is it ok to do the PCA on the WHOLE dataset ONCE and then run the LDA with the CV option set to TRUE (runs LOOCV) -- OR-- do I need - to compute for each 'test-bag' (the n-1 observations) a PCA

RFC: LNT/Test-suite support for custom metrics and test parameterization
Hi all, As we understood great changes will be done in LNT, so we are waiting to new LNT version and stopped our work in LNT. One more question about using test-suite separately with cmake. Cmake can only build all tests and generate lit tests. After that we can run LIT and get report which is not equal with report (simple) got with make. Cmake test-suite version has no features to run custom

Powerware 9355 supoort?
Hi all We're considering getting some Powerware 9355-30-M-0 UPSes to replace some older ones, so I wonder if it would be possible to use NUT for this. It seems 9315 is supported, but AFAICS that's the top model. RFC: LNT/Test-suite support for custom metrics and test parameterization
Hi Elena, Thanks for pushing forward with this. I like the idea of using a NoSQL solution. My primary reservation is about adding the new NoSQL stuff as an extra backend. I think the current database backend and its use of SQLAlchemy is extremely complex and is in fact the most complex part of LNT. Adding something more (as opposed to *replacing* it) would just make this worse and make it more

Is it able to obtain performance metrics from puppet master?
Hello Is it able to obtain performance metrics from puppet master ( or puppet dashboard ) ? I intend to use this metrics in external monitoring system. Of particular interest are the following metrics: * list of agents * time since the certain agent last apply manifest ( to find stuck agents ) * time used to compile manifest by puppet master for the certain agent * time used by the certain
