Legend's attribute
Hi there, I use plot(type="o") to draw the line. And I need put some legend to this line. But how can I let the legend to display the line type in the graph generated from type="o"? I can only find the lty in the legend. But I tried several times and still failed. Also, if I use abline(h=0.08) to draw a horizontal line and I also want to show 0.08 in the y-axis, how can I do

Ask for histogram
Hi, I use a vector of data to draw the histogram, but it is different from the graph by SAS. Can you check it for me please? b is a column vector of 4332 hist(b,probability=T,breaks=30,col='lightblue',ylim=c(0,1)) rug(b) When I used rug, I find the records are smaller than 4332. I don't know where I did wrong. Thanks. -- Yi Du [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

Ask about drawing kernel density estimation
Hi, I have a data set about age from 2006 to 2009 for certain individual. I would like to draw the kernel density estimation to age for each year. But I don't know how to draw the different plots in one graph. The data looks like: Year ID Age 2006 1 20 2006 2 30 2007 1 21 2007 2 31 2008 1 22 2009 1 23 I first use hist(age) to

R looping help
Hey I'm not really sure what I should put on here, but I am having trouble with my R code. I am trying to get the p-values, R^2s etc for a number of different groups of variables that are all in one dataset. This is the code: #Stand counter st<-1 #Collections stands<-numeric(67) slopes<-numeric(67) intercepts<-numeric(67) mses<-numeric(67) rsquares<-numeric(67)

a strange problem with integrate()
Dear all, I am stuck on the following problem with integrate(). I have been out of luck using RSiteSearch().. My function is g2<-function(b,theta,xi,yi,sigma2){ xi<-cbind(1,xi) eta<-drop(xi%*%theta) num<-exp((eta + rep(b,length(eta)))*yi) den<- 1 + exp(eta + rep(b,length(eta))) result=(num/den)*exp((-b^2)/sigma2)/sqrt(2*pi*sigma2)

Minor typo in influence.measures.Rd ?
Dear list, There is, I believe, a minor typo in the example section of influence.measures.Rd. In the final example the word `does` appears where I suspect `dose` is required: I couldn't remember exactly what format patches should be in, so here is one as diff would produce: Index: devel/src/library/stats/man/influence.measures.Rd

[LLVMdev] How to install poolalloc?
Which compiler are you using to compile poolalloc? Looks like it doesn't support C++11 (doesn't recognize nullptr). If it's the former, you should know that you don't need to compile SAFECode to use

Poisson dpois value is too small for double precision thus corrupts loglikelihood
Hi - I have a likelihood function that involves sums of two possions: L = a*dpois(Xi,theta1)*dpois(Yi,theta2)+b*(1-c)*a*dpois(Xi,theta1+theta3)*dpois(Yi,theta2) where a,b,c,theta1,theta2,theta3 are parameters to be estimated. (Xi,Yi) are observations. However, Xi and Yi are usually big (> 20000). This causes dpois to returns 0 depending on values of theta1, theta2 and theta3. My first

file names in Win Explorer
I'm having a problem getting W95 and WNT to correctly read file names on a samba server I set up. The server passed all of the diagnostics, and file names show up correctly in a dos window. However, under windows explorer, anything after a . doesn't show up in the name. This is only true for a . in the middle of the name, "hidden" files such as .fvwmrc show up. WE does

For working with poolalloc, I would recommend using LLVM 3.2 as we know poolalloc compiles with LLVM 3.2. If there's a release_29 branch for poolalloc, you could use that, but you won't get any bug fixes that we added between poolalloc 2.9 and poolalloc

EM algorithm to find MLE of coeff in mixed effects model
I have a general question about coefficients estimation of the mixed model. I simulated a very basic model: Y|b=X*\beta+Z*b +\sigma^2* diag(ni); b follows N(0,\psi) #i.e. bivariate normal where b is the latent variable, Z and X are ni*2 design matrices, sigma is the error variance, Y are longitudinal data, i.e. there are ni

RE: A question on vmx loader in xen - how and when rombiosis loaded into memory
Thank you. I notice the system then jumps to F000:FFF0 to execute. But because VMX is turned on, switching to real-mode would incur problems? I don’t find any clue to turn on the vm86 mode as Readme in the tools/firmware directory puts. That's an old version of LLVM (even by my standards). Is there some other LLVM-based tool that requires that you use LLVM 2.9?
