xmlToDataFrame#Help!!!#follow-up
Dieter Menne pointed out that the (small) xml attachment didn't make it.
Here is an in-line version (see end of message). Let's hope it works
this time.
I'm struggling with interpreting XML files created by ADODB as
data.frames and I'm looking for advice.
Note:
This xlm contains a result set which comes from a rectangular data
array. I've been trying to play with

SAS and RODBC
I am using R-2.10.1 binary from CRAN on a WinXP Pro system. I also use SAS v9.2 on the same box. I just started using the SAS ODBC driver that comes with version 9 of SAS. I have been able to set up an ODBC source for SAS datasets using the driver, and then with RODBC I am able to read a sample SAS dataset.

> ch <- odbcConnect('sasodbc', believeNRows=FALSE)

Missing php* packages
Hello,
I am trying to migrate one of our fedora-based servers to CentOS. Our PHP developers doesn't allow us to switch because there are no crucial (for them) php packages:
php-smarty
php-adodb
php-accelerator
It is not acceptable for us to download sources and compile them and repeat the process each time there is a security bug.
Can you recommend any repository which will deliver all the

prepared query with RODBC ?
Dear List,
Would anyone know how to perform prepared queries with ROBC ?
I had a shot with some of the internal (non-exported) functions of the package
but ended up with a segfault, so I prefer asking around before
experimenting further...
Thanks,
Laurent

Wine+ADODB+PostgreSQL
I'm trying to write VB6 code to get data from a PostgreSQL server running on Fedora 7 Linux. Running the code in Win XP there is no problem, but when I try running under Wine on the linux server itself I get no rows returned from my database even though the logs show I'm connected and PostgreSQL has located the data I requested. I'm using an ADODB connection with a DSN. However the

converting XML document to table or dataframe
I am a relatively new user to R, and I am trying to learn more about
converting data in an XML document into "2-dimensional format" such as a
table or array. I might eventually wish to export this data into a
relational database such as SQL, and/or to work with this data within the R
package.
My sample XML document is located at "

.call file creation
I am curious partly because it has occurred randomly in my asterisk
system. How does one go about creating a .call file for placing a call
between two extensions/phones? I know this has been mentioned and is
probably in one of the wikis somewhere, but I am unsure exactally how to
go about doing it. Can anyone point me in the right direction.

(simple) xml into data.frame and reverse
Hello,
I am trying to convert a simple data.frame (it will always be a few
equally long variables) into the XML format (which I don't understand
too well but need as input for another program) and reverse the
operation (from XML back into data.frame).
I found some code which does the first and it works good enough for me
(see below). Is there an easy way to reverse the operation? My XML
files

invalid 'row.names' length error when running scatterplots or plot in R Commander
Hello,
I teach statistics and use R Commander for teaching. I have 2 students
out of 169 that can't get scatterplots or plot to work. I have had them
update packages, restart R/R Commander/their computers and even
reinstall R/R Commander. One is using Windows 7 on a new pc and the
other is a pc user (not sure the OS). They are both using R2.11.1 and R
Commander 1.6-0.
The data look like

Trouble with reading xml in R
Hi I have been trying for days now to read the contents of this xml file into
R. I tried the simpler solution xmlToDataFrame, which worked on another
file, but somehow it doesn't work for this file.
I have tried different other solutions, but I just can't seem to get it
quite right.

Visual Basic Applications
Hello everyone,
First of all, I apologize for my poor English.
I am a beginner with Wine and I am already astonished by the
possibilities given by such a software. In fact, I got a VB application
that I want to use under my Ubuntu Dapper Distrib. This application is
based on the creation of some objects as :
- scripting.filesystem
- scripting.dictionary
- msxml2.serverXMLHTTP
