problem with listing users on winXP/2k+3
Hello list,
Some days ago i sent an email to this ML about a problem im having with listing
users on winXP/2k+3 computers.
The thing is our samba PDC has +1600 users and, this time i counted, there only
appear on the "security advanced settings" list box (where we select users that
can read/write/execute on a windows directory share), about 500/550 users.
There is no evident reason

Setting up more than 1 samba domain logon server in the same subnet
Hello all,
I have a samba domain logon server set up for Windows 98 clients using
SambaV1.9.18p8. Logon and sharing are
working perfectly fine. It is serving workgroup yyctpa.
Today, I installed SambaV1.9.18p8 again on another Solaris 2.6 running on a
PC (name TMA), using the same smb.conf as the workable
version but serving a different workgroup yyctpb. I created an account

question about matrix
Hello,
I have a few questions about matrix in R.
Can we make a matrix whose elements are list? I would like to save two
different values in each elements of matrix. If there is a package or
something which can deal with complex numbers, that will do it too. Also,
I am wondering whether there is a function to calculate the rank of the
matrix. I found a matrix package, but it doesn't have

[GIT PULL] ocfs2 fixes for 2.6.36.
Linus et al,
Here are the ocfs2 fixes we have ready for pulling right now. I
have a bit of a procedural question, though. I've been busy, so Tao was
kind enough to take the fixes I already had and apply all the new fixes.
He coordinated testing them and getting them ready to go upstream.
That's why I have his git tree in the pull request below.
I wasn't sure how the signoffs work

Vorbis on Empeg
The esteemed Emmett seems to have given an integer decoder license to Empeg
free of charge.
Soon, you'll be able to play Ogg Vorbis in your car. Spectacular.
I'm headed to Vorbis.com to donate some cash. I'd like to encourage anyone
else who feels the same to do so.

[GIT PULL] ocfs2 changes for 2.6.36, part 2.
Linus et al,
Here is the second batch of ocfs2 changes for 2.6.36. We've
ironed out all of the ordering with the extN/jbd2 folks, and they have
stewed for a little as well.
There's nothing large in here. ocfs2 has long supported devices
larger than 2^32 sectors in the code; we now toggle that capability on.
Tao has added readahead to our CoW operations. We also have one more

[GIT PULL] ocfs2 changes for 2.6.37
Linus, et al,
Here are the ocfs2 changes for 2.6.37. There are three major
additions. Tao Ma has added readahead to our CoW operations. Sunil
Mushran has added a global heartbeat mode, allowing one device
heartbeat to support multiple ocfs2 mounts. Finally, Patrick J.
LoPresti has done the final work to enable ocfs2 mounts on devices larger
than 16TB. The ocfs2 disk format has always

[GIT PULL] ocfs2 updates for 2.6.35
Linus et al,
Here are the ocfs2 updates for 2.6.35. There are two major
changes. Mark added allocation reservations to our node-local
allocators. This gets us much more contiguousness when many processes
are growing files in parallel. On the other end of contiguousness,
ocfs2 has had a major limitation since the beginning. When ocfs2 needs
new inodes, it has always grown its metadata

Getting estimates from survfit.coxph
Dear all,
I'm having difficulty getting access to data generated by survfit and
print.survfit when they are using with a Cox model (survfit.coxph).
I would like to programmatically access the median survival time for
each strata together with the 95% confidence interval. I can get it on
screen, but can't get to it algorithmically. I found myself examining

Cox regression and also for some univariate Cox models.
For some of these univariate models I have encountered an error

Understanding of survfit.formula output

I am not familiar with survival analysis and I would need your help to
understand a result I have obtained.
I have used the following command line to look at number of events and
probability of survival at the first 5 years:

data = a), times=c(0,1,2,3,4,5))
