Hi R Users,
I'm using following data/code (data is also attached) to produce a stacked
barplot.
*I need help with changing legend boxes, currently I'm using
"rectangles=TRUE". Is it possible to get small squares instead -- may be
with a small gap between colored squares.* Currently there is no gap between
the colored rectangles.

Greek symbols on "ylab=" using barchart() {Lattice}
Hi All,
I'm trying to write "ug/m3" as y-label, with greek letter "mu" replacing "u"
AND "3" going as a power.
These commands works in general:
plot.new()
text(0.5, 0.5, expression(symbol("m")))
But, I'm sure about how to do it using barchart() from "Lattice". Can anyone
help please?
Thanks,
Peng Cai

Hi All,
I'm trying to get following but not successfully:

Adding text outside (lattice barchart) plotting region.
Hi All,
I need some help with adding text at the bottom of the graph (outside of
default outline of graph).
Say, I need to write "Month: 01 04" below each of the two years in the
following R code, something like this:

SVN vs DVCS
Hi,
Just wondering whether anyone had thought about moving the R sources
to a "distributed" version control system such as Bazaar, Git or
Mercurial. These new generation systems make it easier to work on
feature branches, allow working offline, are very fast, etc.
Some projects that have moved to Git are
Linux Kernel
Perl
Ruby on Rails

Overlay of barchart and xyplot
Hello R Folks,
I am new to R. I have been struggling to overlay a barchart with a
xyplot together on one plot but did not get this worked out. Any help
and idea are greatly appreciated.
I attached R scripts for barchart and xyplot below and also data I used.
What I am trying to do is just to put the barchart and xyplot together
on one plot.

bug in aggregate.ts
Hi,
I am getting unexpected behaviour from aggregate.ts(). The 'ndeltat'
argument is effectively being reduced by 1 in some cases, even when it
is an integer, with the result that the blocks to be aggregated are
not of the expected size, and also that the end() of the aggregated
series is much later than the end() of the original series.
rawts <- ts(rep(1:10, each = 5), start = 1)

{ggplot2} Adding Mean to (grouped) Boxplot.
Hi R Users,
I am using following R code to plot a "grouped boxplot". I'm hoping if I can
add MEAN to these boxplots. Data is copied below and attached as text file.
install.packages("ggplot2")
library(ggplot2)
dta<-read.table("Sample.txt",header=T)
attach(dta)
p <- ggplot(dta, aes(factor(month), nail))
p + geom_boxplot(aes(fill = factor(trt)))

bwplot() {lattice}
Hi All,
I'm trying to plot boxplot graph. I tried barchart with "groups=" option and
it worked fine. But when I try to generate same kind of graph using
bwplot(), "groups=" option doesn't seem to work. Though this works,
yield ~ variety | site * year
I'm thinking why "groups=" doesn't work in this case, can anyone help
please...

proposal for new axis.Date/axis.POSIXct
Hi R-devel.
I've noticed a couple of quirks in the current time/date axis
functions (axis.Date, axis.POSIXct, and the equivalents in lattice).
Looking at the code, it seems like a fairly ad-hoc approach, often
using pretty() on components of the time. This is not always ideal -
for example a one-hour interval gets cut into 10-minute chunks rather
than the more natural 15-minute chunks (since

xyplot second y-xis and legend
Dear list,
I try to set a secondary y-axis in a lattice xyplot. This works. However, I
am unable to set a proper legend/key together with the 2nd y-axis under
general xyplot procedures. See example below.
The combination of the par.settings with simpleTheme and other settings
seems to go wrong.
I couldn't find a solution from previous topics. Any suggestions? thanks in
advance!

When I try to run the codes, I found the following problem:

expression() help
Hi All,
I'm trying to use expression() for y-label in plot(). I'm not able to write
Average(space)PM(subscript)10. I'm trying:
ylab=expression(Average PM[10])
and its not working, because of a space between "Average" and "PM". Thanks,

control span in panel.loess in xyplot
Dear R gurus..
Is it possible to control span settings for different values of a grouping
variable, when using xyplot? an example code shown below
d=data.frame(x=rep(sample(1:5,rep=F),10),y=rnorm(50),z=rep(sample(LETTERS[1:2],rep=F),25))
xyplot(y~x,data=d,groups=z,panel=panel.superpose,panel.groups=panel.loess(span=c(2/3,
3/4,1/2))
or something like..

Times from seq.POSIXt come out wrong in AEST timezone around Feb 29 every
leap year before 1970 (on Windows XP).
According to help(DateTimeClasses), this is handled by "our own C code".

Two-way/Three-way sum.

I'm wondering how can I calculate two (or three) way sum of a variable. A
sample data is:

An extended Hodgkin-Huxley model that doesn't want to work.
Hi All
I have been struggling with this model for some time now and I just can't
get it to work correctly. The messages I get when running the code is:
