eapply weirdness/bug
The following looks like an 'eapply' bug to me:
t/subtest> e <- new.env()
t/subtest> e$tempo <- quote( 1+'hi')
t/subtest> lapply( ls( e), function( x) length( get( x,e)))
[[1]]
[1] 3
# seems reasonable-- e$tempo is a 'call' object of length 3
t/subtest> eapply( e, length)

basic table statistics
Hi,
I have a very simple question, but I'm obviously not able to solve the
problem on my own.
I have a data.frame like
sample(c("A","B","C"),size=20,replace = T)->type
rnorm(20)->value
data.frame(ty=type,val=value)->test
There must be some built in functions, that will do some descriptive
statistics with tabular output, in the end I like to have

How to transfer the variable into function in this code?
as shown in the code, four variables input: diff_expr,diff_coex, klist,
Pop_size, are included in the function. However, within the function,
another variable "vector" is utilized in some subfunction. How they get its
value?
thx

Emails not visible after renaming folders
Hello,
I have strange problem with "losing" emails after rename mail
folder(s) (via imap client: thunderbird, roundcude, etc..)
How to reproduce:
1. Create some folder name, like TEST
2. Create sub-folder under TEST (like SUBTEST)
Structure:
TEST
|--SUBTEST
# doveadm mailbox list -u postmaster at testmailbox
Spam
Trash
Sent
Drafts
INBOX
TEST
TEST/SUBTEST
3. Move (or copy)

call method of superclass
Hi again,
Is it possible to call a method of the superclass within a method with
the same name in the derived class? e.g. : call Test::list from
SubTest::list (SubTest being a subclass of Test)?
Best regards,

Problem accessing sub-methods of functions stored in a vector
Hi folks,
I am having trouble accessing sub-functions when the main function is
stored in an array. For example, the following test code works fine:
fcns = c(abs, sqrt)
fcns[[1]](-2)
fcns[[2]](2)
However, when I try to access sub-functions declared within list() in a
function, this only works directly. When I try to access these within an
array only the first declared sub-function is run.

memdisk possible bug
I just wanted to pass on some information regarding the behavior of memdisk
that I was observing. I have been trying to set up pxelinux/memdisk on a
network with a series of machines. I am trying to boot a 2.88MB DOS image.
This image worked fine on all but one of our machines. The machine had a usb
floppy device. Now the machine would boot the DOS image fine if the usb
floppy device was

[LLVMdev] Loop vectorizer dosen't find loop bounds
Thanks for the alternatives!
I am trying the 'extracting sub-function' approach. However, it seems I
can't get the 'subfunction' to pass the verifier. This is my subfunction:
define void @main_extern([8 x i8]* %arg_ptr) {
entrypoint:
%0 = getelementptr [8 x i8]* %arg_ptr, i32 0
%1 = bitcast [8 x i8]* %0 to i64*
%2 = load i64* %1
%3 = getelementptr [8 x i8]*

interpreting profiling output
I have some trouble interpreting the output from profiling. I have
read the help pages Rprof, summaryRprof and consult the R extensions
manual, but I still have problems understanding the output.
Basically the output consist of self.time and total.time. I have the
understanding that total.time is the time spent in a given function
including any subcalls or child functions or whatever the

How to schedule for a repeated task?
Dear All
I need to schedule for a repeated task on my CentOS server, as the
followings:
-) Telnet to a remote node
-) Issue a command
-) Capture the output in a log
-) Logout from Telnet
-) Wait for a prescribed time interval
-) Then redo , but append the subsequent output in just on file
Can you please let me know which options do we have to write such a task?
Thank you

[cfe-dev] improving test-suite`s FP subtests to be able to compare both exact-match outputs and more-optimized builds that may have different outputs due to FP optimizations
Dear all,
I would like some help, please, with implementing Hal`s excellent suggestion, which I have
reworded as below. Hal has confirmed a previous version of my rewording as a correct
interpretation. [I made minor changes since then, e.g. for grammar.]

Best style to organize code, namespaces
Hi all,
I'm hoping someone could tell me what best practices are as far as
keeping programs organized in R. In most languages, I like to keep
things organized by writing small functions. So, suppose I want to
write a function that would require helper functions or would just be
too big to write in one piece. Below are three ways to do this:

[LLVMdev] code generation order
One more question. I hope you're not getting tired of me already. Does
generating LLVM code have to proceed in any particular order?
Of course, if I am writing LLVM assembler by appending characters to the
end of a sequential file, I'd have to write everything in the order
prescribed by the assembler syntax.
But if I'm using the C interface to build an LLVM parse tree, does that

don''t want to have this useless controller hanging around - is there a
prescribed way to delete the controller or can I just delete the
controller file?
