glm with binomial errors in R and GLIM
Hi all,
In my continuous transition of GLIM to R I try to make a glm with binomial
errors.
The data file have 3 vectors:
h -> the factor that is ajusted (have 3 levels)
d -> number of animais alive (the response)
n -> total number of animals
To test proportion of alive, make d/n.
In GLIM:
$yvar d$
$error binomial n$
$fit +h$
scale deviance = 25.730 (change = -9.138) at cycle 4

Geweke Diagnostic in CODA package
Hi all:
The CODA package provides Geweke Diagnostic method for convergence
checking. The geweke.diag in CODA returns Z-score value but not give a
conclustion that it is convergence or not. So I'd like to know how
small/big the magnitude of Z-score is corresponding to the convergence of
a chain. That is, Doese Z-score smaller or more than *threshold *determine
the convergence? If so, how big

lattice plotting character woes
The following reproducable code shows the setting of my problem:
set.seed(260808)
n = 50
x = rnorm(n)
y = rnorm(n)
z = ceiling(runif(n,0,4))
g = runif(n,0,6)
G = factor(ceiling(g))
xyplot(y ~ x | G)
plsy <- trellis.par.get("plot.symbol")
plsy$pch = z
trellis.par.set("plot.symbol",plsy)
xyplot(y ~ x | G)
plsy$pch = as.character(z)

Read the data from a text file and reshape the data
I have a data set for different time intervals. The data has three comment
lines before data for each time interval. For each time interval there are
500 data points. I want to change the dataset such that I have the following
format:
t1 t2 t3 ................
0.00208 0.00417 0.00625 .................
a1 a2 a3 ...................

Problem about use XenOprofile
Hi, I want to get the performance data like documents
<<Xenoprofoverview&Networking Performance Analysis>>
(http://www.xensource.com/files/xs0106_xenoprof.pdf ).
But how can I get the modules'' profile in kernel?
Now I use command:
Opcontrol --no-vmlinux --separate=kernel,cpu --start-daemon
...run benchmark
Opcontrol --sutdown
Opreport >list
The report shows:

predict newdata question
Hi:
I am using a subset of the below dataset to predict PRED_SUIT for
the whole dataset but I am having trouble with 'newdata'. The model
was created with 153 records and want to predict for 208 records.

help for segmented package
Hi,
I am trying to find m breakpoints of a linear regression model. I
used the segmented package. It works fine for small number of
predicators and breakpoints.(3 r.v. 3 points). However, my model has
14 variables it even would not work even for just one breakpoints!.
The error message is always estimated breakpoints are out of range.
Since my problem is time related problem. So I

Fourteen patches to speed up R
I've continued to work on speeding up R, and now have a collection of
fourteen patches, some of which speed up particular functions, and
some of which reduce general interpretive overhead. The total speed
improvement from these patches is substantial. It varies a lot from
one R program to the next, of course, and probably from one machine to
the next, but speedups of 25% can be expected in
