Vim R plugin-2
Dear R users, People who uses vim in Linux/Unix may be interested in checking the plugin for R that I'm developing: http://www.vim.org/scripts/script.php?script_id=2628 The plugin includes omni completion for R objects, code indentation and communication with R running in a terminal emulator (xterm or gnome-terminal). This last feature was already present in Johannes Ranke's plugin.

editor for MacOS
Dear friends - I'm using Tinn-R in Windows and find it OK. My son is running MacOS and is just starting using R and I know nothing about MacOS and R but we seem to have difficulties in finding something similar to Tinn for MaC. What are your suggestions? Thanks a lot! Troels Ring, MD Aalborg, Denmark

Vim-R-plugin now works on Windows too
Dear R users, Some of you may be interested in the following announcement: The Vim-R-plugin now works on Windows too. With the Vim-R-plugin we can send commands to R from the text editor Vim: http://www.vim.org/scripts/script.php?script_id=2628 Notes: On Windows, the plugin copies the command that will be sent to R into the clipboard. Thus, if you have anything in the clipboard it will be

A couple of suggestions: source function (package base)
Hi, I've been calling the function "source" (package base) from Tinn-R editor to send files, marked blocks and selections to R interpreter because it avoids a lot of problems related with input/output synchronization in the Rgui output! The new RGedit plugin is also using this function in this way, and we are finishing a new version of a plugin to Vim (Vim-R-plugin2) which uses

Could Rstd_Busy do something (src/unix/sys-std.c)?
Currently the function Rstd_Busy() does nothing (src/unix/sys-std.c): void attribute_hidden Rstd_Busy(int which) { } The function is called through a pointer and R interfaces can change this pointer and, thus, use a different function. I don't plan to create a whole new interface to R, but I maintain a package whose aim is to provide a new feature to R when it's running in a

comma as decimal separator in xtable
Hello, How can I make xtable print a comma as decimal separator? Setting the option OutDec isn't enough for xtable: library(xtable) options(OutDec = ",") x <- c(1.1, 1.2, 1.3) y <- c(2.3, 2.2, 2.1) d <- data.frame(x, y) d print(xtable(d)) Thanks! Jakson Aquino

Vim-R-Plugin issue : Python interface must be enabled to run Vim-R-Plugin
I am trying to get the Vim-R-Plugin<http://www.vim.org/scripts/script.php?script_id=2628> to work with gvim and R on Windows 7. When I open a .R file in VIM, it complains and says ""Python interface must be enabled to run Vim-R-Plugin." I have installed pywin32 for python 2.7, and added the following 4 lines to my _vimrc per the instructions

Boxplot with grouped data
Dear All, Is there some way of drawing a boxplot, with R, when one does not have the original continuous data, but only the data grouped in classes? The function boxplot() can only deal with original data. Thanks in advance, Paul

Bug in gmodels CrossTable()?
Is the code below showing a bug in Crosstable()? My expectation was that the values produced by xtabs were rounded instead of truncated: library(gmodels) abc <- c("a", "a", "b", "b", "c", "c") def <- c("d", "e", "f", "f", "d", "e") wgt <- c(0.8, 0.6, 0.4, 0.5, 1.4, 1.3)

using read.table, removing extra quotation mark from a text field? (e.g. ""cat" )
I am using read.table to import a text file within R.   There are several "errors" in my text file.  An "extra" quotation mark has inadvertently been included within a few text fields.   e.g. for a pipe (|) delimited text file, I have something similar to this:   1|7|30| "dog" 2|6|25| ""cat" 3|4|20|"" 4|5| 56| "mouse" 5|3|56|

Network Analysis
Hi, I am working on a project to understand the linkages between various websites. My data currently looks like the following: Variables: Website referral_site_1 referral_site_2 ... destination_site_1 destination_site_2 ... The values in these fields are just websites. So for every website in the first column, I have the top referral and destination websites. I'd like to do some strength

Cream Text Editor
I'm interested in easing my way into learning VIM by first using the Cream text editor, liking the idea that it will work on both my Linux and Windows computers. I've installed Cream on my Linux machine, but can't figure out how to make Cream talk to R? Does anybody know? I'm using Ubuntu if it makes a difference. Thanks. -- View this message in context:

Journal Articles that Have Used R
Is there a way to get a reference list of journal articles that have used R? I am just looking for some examples of R graphs and presentation of results where R was used to generate the results. Thanks for any feedback and insights.

Announce: edtdbg, integrating R's debug() with your text editor
I've just developed edtdbg, a small package that integrates R's debug() with one's text editor. Excerpt from the README file: Goal The debug() function in R is primitive. My goal was to make it more usable by integrating it with one's text editor. Hence I wrote the package here, edtdbg. Its features include: * As one steps from line to line of code
