help matching observations for social network data
Greetings R folks, I am stuck on a problem that I suspect can be solved somewhat easily. I have social network data stored in dyads as below, where the numbers representing ego and alter are identifiers, so that number 1 as an ego is the same person as number 1 as an alter etc. ego alter 1 1 2 2 1 3 3 2 1 4 2 4 5 3 1 6 3 2 7 3

I have installed and loaded the appropriate package (phyloclim), but I do not even know where to begin defining one of the arguments. The usage for the command I?m trying to perform is: niche.equivalency.test(spec, n, maxent, mx = 2000) where the argument? maxent???? is a list containing

question about warning message in nlme model
I am writing to inquire about a warning message that I receive when trying to model a random slope and intercept at the second level of a 3-level model. Specifically, I am testing a 3-level model in which time (WEEK) is nested in participants (PARTICIP) and participants are nested in dyads (DYADID). The goal is to examine how an interpersonal style (CORUMTO) one week predicts changes in

reshape without timevar argument?
Hi I have a data.frame with 2 columns. The first column is an ID column. The other columns are description of the ids. There is more than one description for each Id. Want I want to get as a value is a data.frame where each row corresponds to one ID and has as many columns as different descriptions. I have used a very convoluted step, but I'm very convinced there is an easier way to do

question on multilevel modeling
Hi, I am trying to run a multilevel model with time nested in people and people nested in dyads (3 levels of nesting) by initially running a series of models to test whether the slope/intercept should be fixed or random. The problem that I am experiencing appears to arise between the random intercept, fixed slope equation AND. (syntax: rint<-lme(BDIAFTER~BDI+WEEK+CORUMTO,

interpreting anova summary tables - newbie
Hello, Apologies if this is the wrong list, I am a first-time poster here. I have an experiment in which an output is measured in response to 42 different categories. I am only interested which of the categories is significantly different from a reference category. Here is the summary of the results: summary(simple.fit) Call: lm(formula = as.numeric(as.vector(TNFa)) ~ Mutant.ID, data =

[PATCH 0/21] Integrate processor.h
Hi, This series integrate the processor.h header. There are a lot of things that are deeply architectural differences between architectures, but I've done my best to come to a settlement. With this series, I am very close to have selectable paravirt for x86_64, It applies ontop of today's x86 git, mm branch.

Non-linear Least Square Optimization -- Function of two variables.
Dear All, In the past I have often used minpack (http://bit.ly/zXVls3) relying on the Levenberg-Marquardt algorithm to perform non-linear fittings. However, I have always dealt with a function of a single variable. Is there any difference if the function depends on two variables? To fix the ideas, please consider the function f(R,N)=(a/(log(2*N))+b)*R+c*N^d, where a,b,c,d are fit parameters. For

Multicolumn Listbox selectcommand trouble
Hey folks, This is my first message to the mailing list so please let me know if I mess something up. I'm trying to use the selectcommand for the mclistbox but I'm not very adept at using functions. Ideally I'd like to change the editor text when a different list item is selected but any help using the selectcommand would be appreciated and I think I could get the rest working.

sink() and source()

Changing frame rate in an ogg
Hi I'm trying to understand how to change framerate in an ogg/theora file. I'm recording a stream from a chat (RTP/THEORA) but frame rate of recorded stream is not correct. Reading theora documentation it seems that frame rate (FRN and FRD) only affects granulepos/timestamp but changing it (manually) in the ogg files causes bad decoded frames while playing (I've also tried other

[PATCH v2 0/5] xl: allow for node-wise specification of vcpu pinning
Hi all, This is the second take of a patch that I submitted some time ago for allowing specifying vcpu pinning taking NUMA nodes into account. IOW, something like this: * "nodes:0-3": all pCPUs of nodes 0,1,2,3;  * "nodes:0-3,^node:2": all pCPUS of nodes 0,1,3;  * "1,nodes:1-2,^6": pCPU 1 plus all pCPUs of nodes 1,2    but not pCPU 6; v1 was a single patch, this is
