iplots
Hi guys,
I am trying to plot a scatterplot with lines instead of with points using function iplot in library iplots.
The best I can come up with is
x =(1:100)
y = rnorm(100)
iplot(x,y,ptDiam=0)
ilines(x,y)
Do you guys know of any paramter to set the "type" in iplot or iplot.opt?
Thanks,

Zoomable chart
Hi, I would like to create an interactive bubble chart from a Rails-
based database. I''ve spent quite a lot of time browsing the posts both
here and on rubyforums for similar queries, but haven''t really found a
definitive answer yet. I would like each point to be clickable, and
would like users to be able to zoom and navigate within the chart. We
would prefer not to use Flash for

"Zoomable" time series plots
Not sure if the question is appropos, but I have multiple csv's which
are read into an xts object, corresponding to telemetry data
(accelerometer, magnetometer/compass, and gyroscope). For examination,
it would be ?ber useful if plot.zoo (or something similar) allowed me
to zoom in and out of a subset of the time axes.

query labels in iplot() (or other interactive scatterplot)
By Ctr-moving the cursor over a point in an iplot() scatterplot
(package iplots) it is possible to check the exact x,y coordinates
of a given point. Is it possible to check a text label for that point
as well? (i.e., the same info that would get printed on the graphic
using text(x,y, labels=v)
or with identify(x,y,labels), but I do not want to get the labels
permanently plotted on the graphic)

More detail in chart axis?
Hi,
I have a series of data (about 80,000 pairs of x,y).
Plotting it shows a great chart. However, R has randomly chosen about 6
labels for my x axis. Now, clearly I can't show them all, but would
like some control over the granularity of what is displayed. I can't
find anything in the documentation about controlling the axis data
labels. Is there a way?
Alternately, is there a

combine UserDefinedDatabase and regular environments
Hello,
Is it possible to have the effect of UserDefinedDatabase outside of
"attached" environments ? Can I disguise an environment of the
sys.frames() as a UserDefinedDatabase ?
This seems to suggest that it might be possible :
> f <- function(){ e <- environment(); class(e) <-
"UserDefinedDatabase"; ff }
> f()

ievent.wait
I am working on a plot and would be like to click on a few points and then
have a line connect them. Could anyone help me with this or advise me in a
direction that would suit this. I know I would be using ievent.wait in iplot
but not sure about this.
thank you.

interactive rotating graphics
Dear Colleagues,
Seems I had in the past run across the capability to create a
three-dimensional scatterplot where I could use the mouse to "grab"
the plot and rotate the axes with the mouse. I have used RSiteSearch
and found a few things (e.g., TeachingDemos, iplot) but cannot find
the package/function that does the above. There was also the
capability to use the mouse to select and

Viewport and grid.draw
Hi Deepayan and everyone,
I need to add a common legend to a group of latice
graphs, I have tried different ways using viewport and
grid.draw without success.
Here is what I have:

library(grid)
library('IDPmisc')
print(plot1, split=c(1,1,2,4), more=TRUE)
print(plot4, split=c(2,1,2,4), more=TRUE)
print(plot2, split=c(1,2,2,4), more=TRUE)

Hello,
Just wondering why there is "isTRUE" and not "isFALSE".

getConnection, R_outpstream_st
Hello,
I'm trying to use the limited connections api defined in Rinternals.h. I
have code that looks like this (inspired from do_serializeToConn) :
SEXP serialize_to_connection( SEXP xp, SEXP connection ){
Rconnection con ;
struct R_outpstream_st out;
R_pstream_format_t type = R_pstream_binary_format ;
SEXP (*hook)(SEXP, SEXP) = NULL ;
con = getConnection(Rf_asInteger(connection));

S-Plus compatability...
Dear all,
I was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction to
solve a problem I've encountered.
I have a set of S-plus scripts which call an external program to
analyse the data (the external program is called Genehunter and is
used for genetic analysis). There are a six scripts in total, five of
which are called from the main script. I made a few changes like

celebrating revision 50000
Hello,
Today, Brian Ripley commited the revision 50000 of R's svn repository.
I took this as an opportunity to do some data analysis of the log and
posted some code and graphics on my blog:

The plots of the number of commits per day (and per month) indicates a

Logical statements and subseting data...
Hi,
I'm scratching my head as to why I can't use the subset() command to
remove one line of data from a data frame.
There is just one row (out of 45840) that I'd like to remove and it
can be identified using....

[1] 45840 10
> subset(raw.all.clean, Height.1 == 0 & Height.2 == 0)

Thanks to those of you who have replied, the majority of the
comments pointed out that the error caused by scan may originate
from another function, and closer inspection of the output from
traceback() reveals that it is in fact the read.table function where
the error is originating from the full output of which I have included
below.
The error msg I recieve is

I am posting this to both R and BioC communities because I believe there
is a lot of confusion on this topic in both communities (having searched
the mail archives of both) and I am hoping that someone will have
information that can be shared with both communities.
I have seen countless questions on the BioC list regarding limma
