Hi all,
I compiled 64-bit R on an Apple Mac G5 running OS X, but it failed
make check. Simon Urbanek suggested I post results to R-devel.

R CMD SHLIB error using OS X
Hello,
I'm using R 2.5.0 with OS X 10.4.9 and Xcode 2.4.1 on a PowerPC. My
code used to compile fine with R 2.4.* and Xcode 2.2 (I think).
I'm compiling some C code (named mhroc_prop.c) that calls a fortran
routine from mvndstpack.f I get the error
/usr/bin/libtool: file: mvndstpack.o is not an object file (not allowed
in a library)

eclipse and R
Hello, I am trying to install Eclipse and R on an amd64 machine running
Suse linux 9.3. I have compiled R 2.8.0 with --enable-R-shlib and it
seems that compilation was successfull. After starting R, I installed
the latest rJava package, from the output:
checking whether JRI is requested... yes
cp src/libjri.so libjri.so
It seems JRI support has been compiled successfully. However, when I try

rJava fails compilation on R-2.9.1 but not R-2.7.1 on Debian Lenny
I have been futzing around for days tying to get rJava to install on
my freshly build Debian Lenny installation. I have R-2.9.1 installed
from source in my R_HOME directory and R-2.7.1 installed via apt-get
install r-recommended. I was tried many different things, but by
accident started up R-2.7.1 as root and viola, successful install. I
immediately exited out of R-2.7.1 and started R-2.9.1 as

Fwd: makeconf issue on R-devel 2006-03-12 r37524
I sent the message below to r-sig-mac yesterday, but having no reply
I decided to explore a bit myself and found that editing:
/Library/Frameworks/R.framework/Versions/2.3/Resources/share/make/
shlib.mk
yzzy: diff shlib.mk shlib.mk~
3c3
< include $(R_HOME)/etc/Makeconf
---
> include $(R_HOME)/etc${R_ARCH}/Makeconf
restored the functionality of R CMD INSTALL.
Is this a known issue?

Backgroundrb-devel Digest, Vol 9, Issue 1
Hi Bill,
I have "version 1" backgroundrb running on my development server with
rails 1.2.1, with no issues (other than the left over DB connections
blocking up my MySQL server, which isn''t exactly a new problem).
Going to move production servers to rails 1.2.1 very soon, I''ll post
back if there''s any trouble.
Still would *really* like to get version

I'm using a 2.7 version of R, with rJava 0.8.4 and Java Sun 1.6.
Somebody can help me please ??
Thank you very much,

Strange Behavior using FUSE client
I've recently setup a distributed/replicated cluster and have had an issue
with seeing the directories on the cluster. Also, a df -h only shows data
from one of the three bricks.
The strange behavior doesn't end there. If I log into the 'primary' server
as root, then do an ls on the client, the directories appear. However, df -h
is still incorrect.
I'm not sure exactly

[LLVMdev] trouble compiling llvm-gcc4 1.9
I'm having some trouble getting llvm-gcc4 to compile. It's unable to
compile darwin-crt3.c. It's mentioning "Complex expression. Absolute
segment assumed." but I'm not sure if that's a real error message. Has
anyone run into this before? I'm running on a G4 apple 10.4.8, kernel
version 8.6.0. I googled around and found a bug with the same error message:

Using JRI and Java 1.6 on MAC OS X
Dear R-Help,
I am trying to get JRI (the rJava interface allowing Java to connect
to R) to work. I was able to run it a week ago when I was doing some
testing using Java 1.5. However, I am developing a GUI application
using some of the new Java 1.6 features and I just can't get JRI to
work with this setup.
Here is what I get:

Please make sure that the JRI

Someone Using Java/R Interface--- JRI ?
Hi all,
I am writing R code and I want to interface with JAVA i.e. I want to call R
from JAVA. That's why i have installed JRI on my machine.
There is also documentation available in "Javadoc".
But as i am very new to JAVA and well as R, I don't understand much of it.
If someone is using this package i.e. JRI, please let me know whether i am
going in right direction or not.

Getting JRI/rJava to work
Hello All
I am trying to get the JRI examples from rJava to work on Windows XP and
failing. (And as a more general and connected question is there any
review/summary of front-end software for R?)
I have installed rJava from the Windows binary supplied. I compile and
run the example supplied (rtest.java) and get the results below. I do
not think the notes about a deprecated API are a problem. But

How to force an unused function declaration in clang
It does, when the function has a body. When it doesn't, it ignores
<https://godbolt.org/g/2BCvht>. The body might be provided later on in the
toolchain via linking a library.
