Extracting Sequence Data from a Vector
Thanks in advance. I have a vector of numbers which contain sections that are sequences which increase by a value of 1 followed by a gap in the data and then another sequence occurs, etc: x<-c(1:3, 6: 7, 10:13) From the vector I need to extract 2 items of information A) the first number in the sequence (e.g., 1, 6, 10) and B) how many observations were in each sequence section (e.g., 3,

ordering dataframe for strata() (PR#13830)
I've been using strata(sampling) and found that if the dataframe to be sampled ("data") consists of repeated measures that are not sorted in order the run will fail on a given stratum. Ordering the dataframe prior to using strata() eliminates this problem. Thanks, Eric -- Eric Vander Wal Ph.D. Candidate University of Saskatchewan, Department of Biology, 112 Science Place,

Running stats on individual data.frames from the split() function list
Hello, and thanks in advance. I have a data.frame from which I want to count observations that occur on each day and determine the mean and std.error of said counts. For instance: x<-split(my.df, my.df$julian.days) Although I'm still in my R learning infancy I am under the impression that x is a list of data.frames subsetting my.df by group (i.e.,julian.day) where day 1:366 are

win clients and sftp
I'm having trouble with users transferring files to a solaris box running ossh v2.3.1p1 via sftp using ssh.com's windows client. The sftp client appears not to respect the users umask, creating files with either mode 666 or 600. We're using version 2.4.0 of the windows client. Any ideas? thanks, -Brett ----------------- Brett Longworth Systems Manager Department of Biology

speex affected by vulnerability described in [oCERT 2008-02]
Hi folks, we've tried contacting Jean-Marc Valin but email address bounces. We published yesterday an advisory about libfishsound, you can find it at the following URL: http://www.ocert.org/advisories/ocert-2008-2.html The issues seems to affect Speex (since the code is the same) versions <= 1.1.12. While the 1.2beta branch is not vulnerable we advise that you fix with a security release

Slow directory listing in ERmapper and ArcView
Hello, I'm running Samba 2.0.6 on a Sun Ultra1 as a file and print server for a GIS teaching lab. Samba has solved a bunch of problems for us but one serious one remains. Getting a large directory listing from within two applications, ERMapper 5.5 and ArcView 3.1 running on win95, is a factor of 10 slower than getting the same listing from a local drive or a win95 machine serving SMB.

[PATCH] generator: Share Common_utils code.
For a very long time we have maintained two sets of utility functions, in mllib/common_utils.ml and generator/utils.ml. This changes things so that the same set of utility functions can be shared with both directories. It's not possible to use common_utils.ml directly in the generator because it provides several functions that use modules outside the OCaml stdlib. Therefore we add some

Fudging domain support - samba 2.2.0
Hi; There is likely a supported way around this problem, but it wasn't immediately apparent to me. So, I created the enclosed patch to fix my problem. What I would like to do is the following: - run samba in "security = domain" - not use trusted domains, but allow people to connect from other domains - not maintain a local encrypted password file for samba, but instead use our

Turn on SIP debugging from DialPlan
The SIP trace will be adequate but this is on a remote system with limited disk space. I would love to turn on debugging while making the troublesome calls, then turn it off afterward. Tcpdump is great, but starting it and stopping it and keeping all that data would still be an issue. d On Fri, Feb 17, 2017 at 4:56 PM, Tim Pozar <pozar at lns.com> wrote: > Why not capture the packets

Hardware for PBX with 4 incoming/outgoing lines and 20 phones
Hi I am interested in setting up an Asterisk PBX in my office with digium hardware, and I just have a few questions in regards to what I would need. It is my understanding that an FXO card is used to interface with an incoming/outgoing phone line, and an FXS card is used for interfacing with a phone within the system. Currently we have 4 incoming/outgoing phone lines and would like to have

In other words, it's not a good benchmark for even CPU. That's why the 3-issue ALU in the Nx586 on-ward blows the

X11 device doesn't handle destroy events correcly (PR#848)
Hi, there are two problems in devX11.c. The one is an undocumented nuisance and the other isn't a bug until you try to embed an X11 device in another window (think tktoplevel() in tcltk package...). Let's take a look at locator() first: Assuming you call locator() with a current X11 device, this call is handled in X11_Locator (src/unix/X11/devX11.c). When you have one window open and

nlrq coefficients querry
I have been quantreg library for a number of projects but have just hit a snag. I am using nlrq to examine an asymptotic relationship between 2 variables at the 99th percentile. It performs as expected, however when I try to extract the coefficients along with se and significance I am running into problems. The problem is that for the nlrq regression Dat.nlrq, summary(Dat.nlrq) reports a different
