R and LINGO?
Good Evening Does anyone in the R-help list have experience writing an R wrapper that interfaces with the commercial packages LINGO and/or LINDO.api from R? I have a set of nonlinear/mixed integer problems that solve nicely with LINGO but I would like to use R to set the problems up and analyze/plot the solutions dynamaically. I have searched the archives and have not found any R packages that

Does the R "statistical language includes modules/packages to carry out nonlinear optimization similar to the SAS NLIN and NLP procedures?
Hello R folks, I'm hoping the answer to the question in the subject line. I have in the past used SAS PROC NLIN and PROC NLP to carry out nonlinear optimizations. I'm wondering if there is analogous ways for doing this using R. If so, could someone please point me to some literature that would help me examine this further? Thanks very much. Does the R "statistical language includes, > modules/packages to carry out nonlinear optimization similar to the, > SAS NLIN and NLP procedures?
There is also the OptimizeR project on R-forge http://r-forge.r-project.org/R/?group_id=395. Other related projects are there also, but I'll let their authors speak for themselves. Stefan Theussl did a good job in the Task View, but it is from last June, and it would be a monumental effort to keep up to date with all the work going on. We're "almost" ready to put some of our

S or R used in natural language processing (NLP)?
Dear All, Does anyone use S or R for statistical natural language processing (NLP)? All I have found so far is a package called EMU (http://www.shlrc.mq.edu.au/emu/emu-splus.shtml) which is a speech wave-form processing package. What I'm looking for are routines to support text processing, text categorization, word sense disambiguation, text understanding etc. In particular, I would

Print Migrator help needed...
Hi, I am trying to migrate print queues from a windows server to a samba share. 1. I ran printmig.exe on the windows server. 2. Backed up the printers on the windows servers to a cab file. 3. Tries to restore the printers to the sambashare by specifying the target as //sambaShare. But I get the following error: 2006:01:25 15:35:38 Access Granted to: \\sambaShare 2006:01:25 15:35:38

an optimization problem and installation of the package Rcplex
Hello, I am an R user who wants to solve an optimization problem. To do so, I tried to install the package Rcplex on my computer (Windows7-64), so I did the same as installation Instructions<http://www.geeklog.net/docs/english/install.html> and edited the file "Makevars.win" by adding the path "C:/Program Files/IBM/ILOG/CPLEX_Studio_Preview124/cplex/include" (where the

optimization problem
Dear R-experts, this is not a direct R-problem but I hope you can help me anyway. I would like to minimize || PG-I || over P, where P is a p x p permutation matrix (obtained by permuting the rows and/or columns of the identity matrix), G is a given p x p matrix with full rank and I the identity matrix. ||.|| is the frobenius norm. Does anyone know an algorithm to solve such a problem? And if

State-of-the-art NLP models from R
I was wondering if those of you who have experience with it could recommend an R package. I found the following R packages: Rglpk glpk lpSolve lpSolveAPI Are there any others? Are some of them easier to use than others for a beginner? Any advice

windows print migrator + "add printer command"
Hi all. I was wondering if anyone had a successful exampel of using the "add printer command" with cups so that the windows print migrator could be utilised. Seeing as Jerry as spent time on this it would be a shame not to know how to use it. ;-) I'm guessing that it would be along the lines of: add printer command = lpadmin option1 option2 && cupsaddsmb option1 but
