Form to update two tables
Hello there, this is probably a very simple problem but I''m stuck. I''m following the Login generator tutorial from rubyonrails. It''s all worked fine so far. But I want to add a bit more functionality so that when a user signs up in addition to chosing a login name and password they type in a company name which is added to a seperate table called COMPANIES. Using RJS to highlight one LI if using insert_html on an UL?
It seems common to use RJS for quickly adding and highlighting a list that is having content added to it like this: http://rafb.net/paste/results/Z3m32g48.html ... where "my_list" would be an UL and the partial would insert a LI. Given that example, is there an easy way to highlight only the newly inserted LI instead of the whole UL? The only way I can see to do it is to give

form_for not working with Markaby
I''m playing around with Markaby and I decided to write a little blog app. I''m running into issues with forms however. If I use form_for the output of the form gets swallowed. For example: form_for :article, @article do |f| f.text_field :title f.check_box :published f.text_area :description f.text_field :pub_date f.text_area :content end gets rendered as an empty form

So I put this in my model: class Topic < ActiveRecord::Base validates_presence_of :dr_title validates_length_of :dr_title, :minimum => 1 So, when I submit the form with a blank

Formatting input/output of a text box
Hello, What''s the best way to handle formating of a text_area? I have a text_area in my rails app where people can leave comments and I''d like to automatically convert the line breaks into <br /> tags, or just simply wrap a whole paragraph in <p></p> tags. I''m currently doing the following in my comments controller to insert line breaks when the user
