UseMethod() fails to (PR#1176)
match the argument 'x' if there is another argument with prefix 'x' Full_Name: Henrik Bengtsson Version: 1.3.1 OS: Sun Solaris 8 Submission from: (NULL) (130.235.3.49) I ran into a strange problem with UseMethod(). Run the following code: foo.Bar <- function(this, x=0, xidx=0) { cat("In foo.Bar(): ", this, ", x=", x, ", xidx=", xidx,

Best/safest way to use UseMethod()?
I raised the questions below a couple of months ago by sending it to the developers mailing list, but I don't know if it got through since no one replied to it. Looking at the [R] distribution, the UseMethod() is used in the following way: alias <- function(object, ...) UseMethod("alias") or barplot <- function(height, ...) UseMethod("barplot") What I

Flexclust barchart issue when mcol=NULL (PR#14150)
Full_Name: Chris Hane Version: 2.10.1 OS: Windows Submission from: (NULL) (198.203.181.181) When using barchart in the flexcust package, setting mcol=NULL to avoid the lollipops causes an error. Each panel shows the text message "Error using packet n replacement has length zero." where n is the panel number. > data(iris) > cl <- cclust(iris[,-5], k=3) > barplot(cl,

Dropdown with concatenated columns.
What is the best way to create a drop down where the viewable text in a concatenation of 2 or more columns? For instance, I hane a lookup table with these columns. Model FOO columns: id , name, phone In my drop select tag, I''d like the user to see: "name1 phone1" "name2 phone2" etc.. I know I can do this using find_by_sql . .. But, isn''t there a more

Memory Ballooning / Overcommitting
I have a xen server setup that I want to install a lot of vms on if possible. The vms will have no utilization for the most part; and brief utilization when active. The server has 2GB of RAM. We were running into a problem were the dom0 would not let us add anymore vms because we were out of physical memory. I have started to read about memory ballooning and hoping someone could point me

Kind of 2 dim histogram - levelplot
Dear R-List, I've written some code to put measurement values at a position x and y in bins (xb and yb). It works, but I wonder if there isn't a function that would do what I do by hand in "# fill data in bins"? Here is the code: # data x <- c( 1.1, 1.5, 2.3, 2.5, 2.6, 2.9, 3.3, 3.5 ) y <- c( 6.3, 6.2, 5.9, 5.3, 5.4, 4.2, 4.8, 4.6 ) val <- c( 50, 58, 32, 14, 12,

update.formula has 512 char buffer?
Hello, I am trying to "paste" together a formula to use in the mob function of party. This means the formula will be of the form y ~ x1+ ...+xM | z1+..zN. I am doing some preliminary fits of y ~ x1+ ...+xM, then want to add the conditional part of the equation using update(). Here's the test code: var1 <- 1:78 x1 <- paste("x", var1, sep="") f1 <-

cut and re-factor data
Hello R-users, I have a data frame with a factor of ages in 5 year increments, and various count data for each age group. I only have this summary information in R at the moment. I want to create a new factor that aggregates the age factors if the existing factors have insufficient counts. Then I can use aggregate to build a new data set. I figured out I can get the cut values I want using cut2

asterisk / channel bank
I have two loop-start phone lines connected to an Adtran TA 750 channel bank. When a call comes into asterisk thru the first phone line and the call is redirect (in transit) back thru the second phone line, the channel bank will leave one or both lines opened (ie hangup with spawn a connection again). does any body have a suggestion: 1) I checked the cables into the channel bank from both phone

Design Survplot performance
Hi, I have a Cox PH model that's large for my server, 120K rows, ~300 factors with 3 levels each, so about 1000 columns. The 300 factors all pass a preliminary test of association with the outcome. Solving this with cph from Design takes about 3 hours. I have created the fit with x=T, y=T to save the model data. I want to validate the PH assumption by calling survplot(fit, gender=NA,

[LLVMdev] LLVM CreateStructGEP type assert error
If I do M.dump(), at the top of the output I have: %struct.RB = type opaque Further down I have: @.str18 = internal addrspace(2) constant [13 x i8] c"RB_t*\00" However nowhere does it dump the full struct type when I call "M.dump()". I have it explicitly defined above the kernel in the kernel file, but LLVM doesn't seem to pick it up. Opaque is a placeholder until it

Hello list. I'm trying to rebuild the 2.6.9.67.0.20.EL kernel, but it fails even without modifications. How did I try it? Created a (non-root) build environment (not a mock ) Installed the kernel.scr.rpm and did a rpmbuild -ba --target=`uname -m` kernel-2.6.spec 2> prep-err.log | tee prep-out.log The build failed at the end: Processing files: kernel-xenU-devel-2.6.9-67.0.20.EL Checking

I have a Samba PDC setup using LDAP as the passdb. I want to add another Samba server to the mix. I believe I want to add it in as a Domain Server; however, I can't seem to get it working. On the PDC server I am running: - linux (2.6.latest) - openldap (latest) - samba (3.latest) - nss On the Domain Server I am running: - samba (latest 3.latest) - nss I thought someone might
