Truncated R output in Sweave
Dear Colleagues:
In producing a book or a handout I sometimes cut out a large part of the
printed output of an R function, substituting ... for that chunk.
Deleting non-essential output saves paper. It would be nice to have a
capability in Sweave to allow the user to specify a starting and an
ending regular expression that would identify consecutive lines of
output to replace with ...,

Sweave.sty
Does anyone know where I can download the latest version of Sweave.sty? I have looked all over the site http://www.stat.umn.edu/~charlie/Sweave/ with no luck.

Sweave findings
Dear Group:
After struggling with escape sequences using the LaTeX listings package
(used by the R SweaveListingUtils package), I have come to the
conclusing that listings' interaction with the LaTeX fancyvrb package
prevents escapes such as
plot(x) # See Figure \ref{my.plot}
The only way I could solve the problem in general is to use a Perl
script to pretty-print the R code, and to

SweaveListingUtils question
Hello,
recently I read about the SweaveListingUtils package and now I want to try
it out. However, I can not make it work...
Below a minimal example. The problem seems to be the following line
(generated by SweaveListingPreparations()?):
\ifthenelse{\boolean{Sweave@gin}}{\setkeys{Gin}{width=0.6\textwidth}}{}%
If I comment out this line, it works.
What can I do about this?
I am using the

Sweavelistingutil: Encoding problems
Hello,
I am not sure whether this is a bug or lack of R experience.
However, I am using your Sweavelistingutil package, which is very
nice. Obviously I use it to create LaTeX files. These are encoded in
utf8.
However, when I use the Sweavelistingutil is uses some funky
character for "`" and "'" that is not recognized.
Here is an example from my tex-file:

Awkward escaping with five backslashes within \code{ } in new parse_Rd
Hi R-devels,
I noticed that you are working quite actively on the new Rd-parser
and have made it the default renderer in R-2.10.0dev. So I would
like to come back on an issue I have already raised on this list
last November
("Two minor escaping issues using \preformatted{....} in Rd format")
My setting has slightly changed as \preformatted, AFAICS is not
supported within \describe

Alternativas a pgfSewave

[External] Re: Package recommendations for outputting table with cell formatting
To John and everyone else,
Please add Hmisc::latex to your how-to-make-beautiful-tables-in-r document.
We first included latex() in S in 1995, and it is still actively
maintained and improved.

Sweave-LaTEX question
Hi:
I am working on a publication and I have heard about LaTEX but I haven't actually tried to learn about it until today. I've found a few examples but I can't actually make them work properly. I have a couple of questions:
Does LATEX have to be installed on your computer? How does the xtable package and Sweave work together? How can I make the code below create a table as pdf file?

Input encoding problem when using sweave with xetex
Hello
Because I want to use different true type fonts with latex, I''m using the
XeTeX typesetting engine for my sweave-documents. I''m using Lyx with Sweave
on a Windows 7 PC and have set up LyX to work with XeTeX according to the
following instructions:
http://wiki.lyx.org/LyX/XeTeX
Because the input file for XeTeX is assumed to be in UTF-8 encoding, I set

Sweave, TEXINPUTS problem
Hi,
I'm trying to use Sweave in my .tex-documents using

When trying to typeset this .tex document, I get an error message saying

embed Sweave driver in .Rnw file
Hello,
Sweave lets you use alternative drivers through the driver argument, and
several packages take advantage of that and define custom Sweave driver
for various purposes. Most of them are listed on the Reproducible
Research CTV:
The next natural step is for package developpers to take advantage of
this in their vignettes. In

including Sweave tangled code in '.Rnw' document
Hello List,
I have been using Sweave for my homework this last quarter and have been
very impressed at how much time and effort it saves me. I, however, have
run up against a problem which I have not been able to solve using any of
the Sweave/LaTeX tricks I know. I work through my homework one problem at a
time, typesetting equations and writing R code, etc. and occasionally use

Sweave output from print.summary.glm is too wide
Hi all
I am preparing a document using Sweave; a really useful tool. But I am having a problem.
Consider this toy example Sweave file:
\documentclass{article}
\begin{document}
<<echo=TRUE,results=verbatim>>=
options(width=40) # Set width to 40 characters
hide <- capture.output(example(glm)) # Create an example of the problem, but hide the output

Sweave: Changing the background color, adding a border
Hi all,
I am using Sweave to produce a document. Unfortunately, I have to print
several copies and I can't print them in color. So I would like to
change the way of printing the code. I would like to print the code in a
box with a black borderline and a grey background (quite classic). Is it
possible to do it by changing some Schunk options?

Sweave question
It seems that Sweave is supposed to be used from Latex and R is called
during the LaTeX compilation process whenever R chunks appear. What
about the other way round? I would like to run it triggered by R. Is
this possible? I understand that this does not correspond to the idea
of literate programming since it means that there is R code running
outside the document, but for my practical approach, I

Slightly OT: Does anyone use latex2rtf with sweave output ?
Hello,
I'm trying to use R (and Sweave) to pull some data out of a database and
produce some standard reports. unfortunaltey, the people who want the
reports want them in an editable format so they can add wordy bits to
the automatically generate tables and graphs.
My current plan is to use R to call a standard sweave document and pass
variables to tell what data to pull out of the db,
