reading an image and adding a legend
Hi all, I would like to 1. Read in an arcmap image into R (I can export pretty much any type of image jpeg, bitmap etc from arcmap) 2. Use R to create a nice colour legend in the plot First of all, Is this possible? So far I'm stuck on point 1. I have tried read.pnm() from pixmap and read.jpeg() from rgl. the pnm example provided works fine x <-

help using zeroinfl()
Hi all, I have been trying to use zeroinfl() with the pscl package with R version 2.1.1. and with the newest versions of the contrib packages compatible with R 2.1.1. I have read the examples, the vignette and all the posts relating to zeroinfl() but I am still confused as to how to structure the model. Here is a small example; the error message is the same for big data sets

[LLVMdev] Please benchmark new x86 vector shuffle lowering, planning to make it the default very soon!

Non-monotonic spline using splinefun(method = "monoH.FC")
Hi, In my version of R, the stats package splinefun code for fitting a Fritsch and Carlson monotonic spline does not appear to guarantee a monotonic result. If two adjoining sections both have over/undershoot the way the resulting adjustment of alpha and beta is performed can give modified values which still do not satisfy the required constraints. I do not think this is due to finite precision

Replication -O3 optimizations manually
Hi, Stefano I also have the problem as described by Emanuele. You say that clang schedules target-independent and target-dependent passes. However, when I use lli to execute bitcode generated by opt with -O3 or with the same optimization passes as -O3, the performance are still different. So, are there some special operations by -O3 option? I read the source code of opt, but I cannot find the

Replication -O3 optimizations manually
Hi Zide, I think I found the right way to reach my goal. I used the following command: clang -O3 -Xclang -disable-llvm-optzns main.c -S -emit-llvm -o main.ll to generate an IR file enriched by all the metadata that otherwise wouldn't be generated with -O0. Moreover, -disable-llvm-optzns flag ensures that none of the optimization passes has been applied yet to the IR. In this way, I can

Memory footprint
Hi Everybody, my rails 1.2.5 application runs in a linux embedded environment with serious memory constraints. I would need to know how small a memory footprint I can hope to get. I run ligthtpd with only one dispatch and I did already remove actionmailer and actionwebservice which I do not need. Currently top shows a memory footprint of 720K for lighttpd and 25M for the dispatch.fcgi process. The

Replication -O3 optimizations manually
Hello llvm-dev, my name is Emanuele and I am an intern in ARM. As part of the project I am doing here, I would like to manually replicate the optimizations that LLVM applies when I type -O3. In other words, I would like to know what are the compilation flags/passes that -O3 triggers. I noticed that GCC reports, on its website, all the flags that are enforced by -O3

Hello, I tried to turn lists into vectors and then bind them together in order to create a dataframe but if, after this, I try to use the function write.table I get the following error message: Error in write.table(x, file, nrow(x), p, rnames, sep, eol, na, dec, as.integer(quote), : 'list' type not implemented in 'EncodeElement' Here is what I've done:

And also, if i had found coordinates of points representing row and column profiles, how do i put them in a single figure with labels identifying each one of them? This thing is getting me almost crazy... Thank you in advance for answering, bye

[LLVMdev] [ exception_ptr ] libcxx doesn't cope well with libcxxabi under linux
Hi, I'm under Ubuntu 13.10 amd64 I just compiled both my libcxx and my libcxxabi. I noticed this really weird behaviour, while trying to compile some C++11-compliant piece of code I get this error at runtime exception_ptr not yet implemented Aborted (core dumped) Now my experience tells me that this is something that can easily be related to the ABI, so I go to the official libcxxabi

Dear All, Folks at the West Bengal University of Technology has set up a mirror to distribute R and associated packages. Here is the URL: http://mirror.wbut.ac.in/CRAN This will be helpful for R users in South Asia and the adjoining countries. I have yet to see the site featured in the CRAN list of mirrors. What needs to be done? For those of you who are impatient and would like to give it a
