mongrel vs. scgi
I''ve liked the scgi runner ever since it came out. I like the way it''scontrolled, the way it''s clusterable, and the fact that it runs onwin32 platforms so easily. Now it''s May 2006, and the scgi runner hasn''t changed since October, and now we have mongrel. I keep seeing hints of clustering in mongrel,as well. I just downloaded the win32 installer for

How to size an email server to handle 5 million emails per day
I have no idea as to how to size an email server. I was approached by a customer that wanted a single server with RAID 1 disks to handle about 5 million emails a day. In general terms, what parameters should I take into account to size the hardware specs when the average email is about 10kb, the smalles email is 2kb and the largest email is about 5meg (with attachment) thanks, --

Google launches social search copied idea from Find1Friend.com running on Xapian!
Social Networking Search Google and Bing launches social search that I invented and developed at http://Find1Friend.com/ before running on Xapian. They copy inventors ideas and never gave credit to the inventor, the exact same way when I wrote first social networking site in 1999 at http://MyWBS.com , Friendster, MySpace, Facebook and others copied the idea, made tons of money, held hundreds

Informal discussion group about R
I've started a "tribe" for discussing R and sharing scripts. Tribe.net is one of the popular on-line social communities, like "Friendster". Visit and see if it is a forum that you find useful. To join the "tribe" you will need to register with Tribe.net. I hope it will be of help to newbies, although I'm new to R myself. Here is the url:

WERR_DS_DRA_MISSING_PARENT while Joining Samba4 DC to Samba4 Domain
OK, we're getting closer here I think. I repeated with -d 2 without much help. Here is -d 3, which may point us in the right direction. As I suspected, it seems to point to some corruption in the DNS still, perhaps? The key line seems to be here: Missing parent while attempting to apply records: No parent with GUID 60e25dda-6d35-4aab-bfa5-6137cb271e27 found for object remotely known as

Strange scope problem
Hi, I have come across the following problem which seems to be a scoping issue but I'm at a loss to see why this is so or to find a good workaround. Suppose I have a function to get a prediction after model selection using the step function. step.pred <- function(dat, x0) { fit.model <- step(lm(y~., data=dat), trace=F) predict(fit.model, x0, se.fit=T) } This function works

[PATCH] U2F support in OpenSSH
Hey, Judging from the (private) responses I?ve got, there is quite a bit of interest in the U2F feature I proposed a while ago. Therefore, I?ve taken some time to resolve the remaining issues, and I think the resulting patch (attached to this email) is in quite a good state now. I also posted the new version of the patch to https://bugzilla.mindrot.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2319 (which I?ve opened
