epitools and R 2.5
At work after updating to R 2.5 I get an error using epitab from package
epitools, when at home (R 2.4) I get no error. Could someone help me?

binom.test
R-experts:
A quick question, please.
>From a lab exp, I got 12 positives out of 50.
To get 90% CI for this , I think binom.test might be the one to be used.
Is there a better way or function to calculate this?

Removing or ignoring package version for generic function in locked environment
Hi,
I use the epicalc package which provides the function aggregate.numeric.
Unfortunately aggregate.numeric produces warnings when aggregate is used by functions not under my control on a numeric value. If I don't load epicalc, aggregate.default is used instead by these functions and does not produce any warning.
However I need epicalc. So to get around this, what I would do is firstly

Confidence interval for relative risk
The concrete problem is that I am refereeing
a paper where a confidence interval is
presented for the risk ratio and I do not find
it credible. I show below my attempts to
do this in R. The example is slightly changed
from the authors'.

Error in installing packages
Dear R Users;
I am an R user who has recently bought a new laptop;Toshiba Satellite
U405 running on both Windows Vista and Ubuntu.
I have problems on the wondows vista when installing packages. The
argument 'lib' is missing. How do i solve this problem?

installing any package fails using 'install.packages()' (PR#13993)
Dear all,
I installed my R-2.9.2 on my ubuntu version 9.04 successfully using the
command
sudo apt-get install r-base-dev
The problem is that I cannot install any package.

Drawing asymmetric error bars
Hello,
I have data which I have arcsin transformed to analyse.
I want to plot my data with error bars however as my data is
back-transformed my standard errors are uneven.
Is there a simple way to draw these asymmetric error bars in R?

Asymmetric routing and firewalls dropping UDP packets
We are running tinc (v. 1.0.26) in switch mode with bmx6 (another mesh
protocol) running on top of the tap0 interface on about 25 devices. The
asymmetric routing of UDP packets is causing my firewall and I presume
others to drop some of the packets, since there are no outbound SYN packets
originating from the device running tinc. Is there any way to mitigate
this issue besides enabling tcponly

proportional test on epicalc library vs. Jerrold H. Zar.
Hi everyone,
I'm working with the Epical library, specicatly using the power test in
proportions. I think this test is not working like in the book:

Hmisc binconf function value interpretation during narrow confidence intervals
Hello all,
I've been using binconf (package Hmisc) at a range of alpha values and
noticed that using the 'Wilson' method when alpha is larger (i.e. narrow
CI), results in the upper value being smaller than the lower value. The
'exact' and 'asymptotic' methods give results in the realm I'd expect.
But the help file suggests:

lo señalamos en el script, por favor quizá se nos haya ido algún detalle,

I have a requirement that I need to use encryption technology to encrypt
very large tar file on a daily basis. The tar file is over 250G size and
those are data backup. Every night the server generated a 250G data backup
and it?s tar?ed into one tarball file. I want to encrypt this big tarball
