Fwd: Simulation of spatial Log-Gaussian Cox process in Spatstat
Hello,
I have fitted a Log-Gaussian Cox Process on my data but when I try to
use "simulate.kppm" of the spatstat package I get this error:

r SIG birth, life and death
I would like to correspond or talk on the phone with anyone who has founded
a SIG or participated in numerous SIGs and has thoughts or lessons learned
about what makes them thrive, stagnate or die. Also, if anyone has written
anything useful on this topic (SIG health, SIG growth, SIG moderation (in
the social rather than the technical sense), and the like) I would greatly

finding birth position
Hi All,
I have data on the sequence of births for families with completed
fertility cycle (in a data frame); the relevant variables are called b1,
b2, b3, b4, b5, b6 and record the birth of the first, second, ..., sixth
child. So,
b1=1 if the first birth is male,
b1=2 if the first birth is female,
and b1=NA if the family did not record any first birth.
Similarly for b2, b3, b4, b5 and b6.

Problem loading spatstat.
I upgraded to R version 2.6.0 yesterday; now I find that I can't load
spatstat.
I re-installed spatstat (that part seemed to work without complaint)
but when
I execute

I get the error message

Spatstat
Hi all,
I am trying to install Spatstat on OpenSUSE 11.1.
install.packages("spatstat", dependencies = TRUE)
fails on the basis of various compiler packages (full message below).
I have gcc version 4.3.2, which should include gfortran and g++ - so I'm not
sure what to do!

Metropolis-Hastings Markov Chain Monte Carlo in Spatstat
I'm testing some different formulations of pairwise interaction point processes
in Spatstat (version 1.11-6) using R 2.5.0 on a Windows platform and I wish to
simulate them using the Metropolis-Hastings algorithm implemented with Spatstat.
Spatstat utilizes Fortran77 code with the preprocessor RatFor to do the
Metropolis-Hastings MCMC, but the Makefile is more complicated than any I have

tessellation from biological data in spatstat
Hi,
I'm new to this mailing list so apologies if this is too basic. I have
confocal images 512x512 from which I have extracted x,y positions of the
coordiates of labelled cells exported from ImageJ as a.csv file. I also
have images that define an underlying pattern in the tissue defined as
areas of different pixel values 0 or 255 (also 512x512) I've exported
these images as .txt

This is a cry for help. My apologies for taking up bandwidth
with an issue that is not really on topic. But I really do want
to acquire the requested information.
In the course of preparing my PBRF (performance based research

I have been advised that I should provide some estimate of the number

spatstat sub-selection
Fellow Users,
In Spatstat, if you have a ppp object with, say 100 points, how do you
create another ppp containing a random selection, N, of the original?
You can tell the function 'rthin' to make a sub-selection of points, i.e.
"every point is removed with probability 0.5" but you CAN'T set N exactly...
I'm sure this should be easy...
Ta!
Tom
