RODBC Access limit?
I have been using RODBC to connect to an Access database to capture data to create plots. Recently I found incomplete charts. Upon investigation I discovered that the data retrieved stopped at 3276 rows (records) out of a table with over 5600 records. I've tried changing "max","buffsize", and "rows_at_time" but it still returns only 3276 rows. Is this a

Run time error when executing sqlQuery using the 64-bit version of R with 64-bit RODBC package in a Solaris 10 Sparc machine.
I have compiled and linked a 64 bit version of R (R 2.9.2) and the corresponding unix ODBC 64 bit package The red highlighted text below is the error I'm getting trying to when invoking a sqlQuery > library(RODBC) > channel <- odbcConnect("OraLSH", <user>, <password>) > sqlQuery(channel,"select sysdate from dual") Error in .Call(C_RODBCFetchRows,

BUG in RODBC() on Ubuntu 64amd : rows_at_time=1024
R 2.8.1 Ubuntu 64amd RODBC 1.2-5 --------------------------------- This was a hard-to-track bug for me, because sqlQuery() did not fail - instead, it looked like it returned some good data and some NA where there should have been numbers and 0 where there should have been NAs. I did: (a) sqlQuery( o, qry, as.is=TRUE, errors=TRUE, rows_at_time=1024 ); (b) sqlQuery( o, qry, as.is=TRUE,

Querying sqlite through RODBC causes R to crash
Dear R-SIG-Debian, while trying to query data from an SQLite database through RODBC on Debian testing, R crashes with the following message: library(RODBC) con3 <- odbcConnect("test3") # 'test3' being an ODBC datasource configured with SQLite3 driver, # but the same happens with SQLite driver sqlQuery(con3, "select * from test") # 'test' being any table

Using RODBC to use SQL queries
Hello, I am new to the RODBC package, but I have looked over the PDF as well as a few websites that go over the SQL language. I can connect to my database fine using >channel<-odbcConnect("Oracle ODBC") # then am prompted to enter my user id and password After that I'd like to use the odbcQuery function and the SQL statement: SELECT * FROM table_name WHERE SAMPLE_YEA LIKE

I am trying to connect to an internal database and use the sqlQuery command to reduce and retrieve data using the following code: channel <-odbcConnect("some_dsn", uid="", pwd="") txt<-'SELECT Date, Region, Price FROM TableXYZ WHERE Type="Domestic"' sqlQuery(channel, cat(txt,"\n"),errors=TRUE,) close(channel) However, I get the

2 (related) problems with RODBC in 64 bit Windows
Hi all, I am encountering an RODBC problem in R 2.15.1 in windows 64 bit which I do not encountered in the same set up in windows 32 bit (the latest binary version of RODBC in both cases from the same depository gotten by install.packages(‘RODBC’), Oracle ODBC client software installed in 64 and 32 bit respectively) 1. The code looks like library(RODBC) credentials <-

why querying Sybase IQ using RODBC returns error ?
Hello, I am not able to query Sybase IQ database from R using RODBC package. Check the below code R> sybaseiq.query <- function (sql, ..., as.is = FALSE) { connstr <- "Driver={Sybase IQ};UID=ajadhav2;PWD=*****;ServerName=PSGSESHR01A_IQ;CommLinks=SharedMemory,TCPIP{host=psgseshr01_iq.sg.csfb.com;port=3051}" chan <- odbcDriverConnect(connstr)

RODBC missing values in integer columns
Hello, We are having some strange issues with RODBC related to integer columns. Whenever we do a sql query the data in a integer column is 150 actual data points then 150 0's then 150 actual data points then 150 0's. However, our database actually has numbers where the 0's are filled in. Furthermore, other datatypes do not have this problem: double and varchar are correct and do not

run query using rexcel runrfile and rodbc sql query
Hi, I'm using R-2.8.1 for windows. I wrote a script calls the RODBC package to run sql queries against an oracle database. It runs fine when run from the rconsole and returns a data.frame with a summary for a set of experiments. I want to run this script using the rinterface.RunRFile command in an excel plugin, using the rexcel package. When I run the code from my excel plugin I

calloc bug in RODBC 1.1-7 and later?
I'm trying to load Affy Annotation data from an Access database into R using RODBC. This has worked fine for quite some time. The bug seems to be correlated to RODBC versions 1.1-7 and later. Works fine: R 2.2.0 with RODBC 1.1-4; R 2.3.0 or R 2.4.1 with RODBC 1.1-6 Fails: R 2.3.1 with RDOBC 1.1-7; R 2.4.1 with RODC 1.1-7 or 1.1-8 Details ===== This works fine: Version 2.2.0

R and/or REngine kills Java
Hi all, I am using R and JRI under Windows XP Pro. I am posting this question here since the reason might be R related (since I am running an R script) but there is also a very good chance that it is JRI only (since I am using the JRI interface to activate the script) -- in which case I want to apologize for misplacing this message. I have a method that instantiates an REngine object every time

True ActiveRecord result set iteration
Hello, For an internal project we were looking for a solution which extends ActiveRecord by an iterator function. Using find(:all) is no fun if you have to process some 10.000 records. Until now there have been two ways of dealing with that scenario: - write your logic a second times (e.g. use stored procedure) - bet on AR plugins which work around that limitation by fetching IDs and

RODBC: sqlFetch and its argument sqtable

RODBC and NULL values
Dear All, Writing sooner than I thought I'd need to. I'm using R 2.4 on Mac OS X, with RODBC, PostgreSQL 8.1 and Actual's ODBC driver. I have all my data in Filemaker 8.5, but it is automatically exported into PostgreSQL for analysis as Filemaker's ODBC and JDBC access is awful, slow and has a tendency to crash. I have disability data where for each patient there is a survival

Import of Access data via RODBC changes column name ("NO" to "Expr1014") and the content of the column
Dear all, I have some problems with importing data from an Access data base via RODBC to R. The data base contains several tables, which all are imported consecutively. One table has a column with column name "NO". If I run the code attached on the bottom of the mail I get no complain, but the column name (name of the respective vector of the data.frame) is "Expr1014" instead

Watching tune parameters for SVM?
Hi, I'm switch over from RapidMiner to R. (The learning curve is steep, but there is so much more I can do with R and it runs much faster overall.) In RapidMiner, I can "tune" a parameter of my svm in a nice cross validation loop. The process will print out the progress as it goes. So for a 5x cross tuning for the value of C with auc as my performance measure, I see XV C
