The tablegen part, maybe.
Discussing whether whitespace is technical debt, i hope that's not a
serious discussion :)
It doesn't even meet wikipedia's somewhat muddled

Can't access files at localhost
I've created a symlink inside my /var/www/html/ folder called "web",
which is points to a my /home/dave/web directory.
Inside that directory, I created a folder for my web site called
"website".
I thought I should be able to access that web site through FireFox by
going to either:
httpd://localhost/web/website
... or:
http://localhost/web/website

RSS Feed of NEWS needs a hand
Hi!
Thanks for this service! It is very helpful to know what is being developed.
I distribute the content to other venues and I noticed some times that the
updates are duplicated.
For example, the sentence "?is.R()? is deprecated as no other S dialect is
known to be in use (and this could only identify historical dialects, not
future ones)." is duplicated in different days:

While humorous, let's dial back the trolling at this point. =] This
discussion is a largely serious discussion, and shouldn't get derailed.

Priority + 101 exit
Many built-in applications jump to current priority + 101 upon unfavourable
output. Does this apply to macros and AGI's also? Precisely, when an AGI
returns non-zero, will Asterisk automatically take the call to +101? And
when a macro hits an invalid extension, will Asterisk automatically take the
call to +101? (So far the "i" extension could not be reached from within a

SSL overview...
Can someone help me understand the overall picture of SSL certificates in this scenario?
I have a working dovecot/postfix/mysql server. It has a certificate.
I now want to create a second, essentially duplicate configured server for use with replication.
What is the relationship between the certificate and the hostname, or the DNS entry since the certs are created using the server?s domain

RSS Feed of NEWS needs a hand
Years ago Duncan set up a nightly job to feed RSS based off changes to NEWS,
borrowing some setup parts from CRANberries as for example the RSS 'compiler'.
That job is currently showing the new \I{...} curly protection in an
unfavourable light. Copying from the RSS reader I had pointed at this since
the start [1], for today I see (indented by four spaces)

Weird Over Lapping Asterisk Calls via SIP Phones
I am trying to create an IVR system that uses both POTS and IP phones
and I have a few problems that I encountered with the IP SIP phones
(Grandstream Budge Tone 102).
1. When a user hits the hook fast enough, the user can create multiple
IVR connections that gives the appearance of an echo that is phased a
few seconds apart. The way to reproduce this is by hitting the hook
fast and furious. The

Error producing density curve
Hi, i have never really used R before and i need to produce a density curve
for use in an assignment. Following the instructions in the manual provided
with my course i keep getting this error message:
"Error in plot.xy(xy, type, ...) : invalid plot type '1'"
The commands i have entered are:

what does it mean when my main effect 'disappears' when using lme4?
Hello,
Setup: I have data with ~10K observations. Observations come from 16
different laboratories (labs). I am interested in how a continuous factor,
X, affects my dependent variable, Y, but there are big differences in the
variance and mean across labs.
I run this model, which controls for mean but not variance differences
between the labs:
lm(Y ~ X + as.factor(labs)).
The effect of X is

Boot package
Dear mailing list,
I tried to run the example for the conditional bootstap written in the help file
of censboot. I got the following result:

Call:

G.surv = aml.s2, strata = aml$group, sim = "cond")

SSL overview...
I thought I read somewhere that the hostnames on replicated dovecot servers had to be different. Is this simply the hostname you specify in the config for dovecot and can this be different than the actual unix hostname?

One for the wish list - var.default etc
I was working on a permutation-like variant of the bootstrap for smaller samples, and wanted to be able to get summary stats of my estimator conveniently. mean() is OK as its a generic, so a mean.oddboot function gets used automatically. But var, sd and others are not originally written as generic; they have to be explicitly masked by a package or new declaration.
It would have been nice if

help: ks test fit Poisson-ness (D and p) with one sample data
for a silly question, wondering how to test fit with the one sample as follow.
I have read _fitting distributions with R_, but that doesn't answer my specific question.
inclined to use Kolmogorov-Smirnov D, and its associative p value.
much appreciation!

Centos 6 - Networking: Some Queries
Hello all
I am setting up a Centos 6 machine with one network card & one onboard
network port. Both are recognized & work. Onboard Network port is unused
yet, but is required for dedicated access to LTSP LAN, which would allow
older PIII machines to boot from this system. I have installed LTSP but
again Networking seems to be the problem area, as the clients won't boot

the routing cache and route selection; is this correct?
Hello all,
I do not read C very well (especially kernel C). Though I have tried to
muddle my way through an understanding of what''s going on in fib_hash.c,
fib_rules.c, and route.c, I have not succeeded to my satisfaction, hence
my post.
I''m trying to document the general process of route selection, and have
come up with the following overview. Could somebody point out any

Computing/Interpreting Odds Ratios for 3-way interactions from lmer
Hello,
I am a relative novice at both using regression analysis and at using R in general (and at object oriented programing). A colleague convinced me that binary logistic regression is the most appropriate analysis for the data that I have though, so I've been trying to muddle through.
I'm currently stumped on how to interpret/compute odds ratios for two and three way interactions

Permutation or Bootstrap to obtain p-value for one sample
Hi,
I am having trouble understanding how to approach a simulation:
I have a sample of n=250 from a population of N=2,000 individuals, and I
would like to use either permutation test or bootstrap to test whether this
particular sample is significantly different from the values of any other
random samples of the same population. I thought I needed to take random
samples (but I am not sure how
