possible bug in function 'var' in R 2.7.2?
Dear R-Help,
I have used R2.6.0 until I recently installed also R2.7.2 (see details below)
In R 2.6.0, the following script using the function 'var' (cor(stats)):
x.test <- c(NA, NA, NA, NA)
var(x.test, na.rm=T)
gives the output:
NA
In R2.7.2 the output of the same script generates an error message and stops R:
'Error in var(x.test, na.rm = T)

How to choose a button and scrape the website data
hi all,
I'm working on scrapping some website data to build a database.
Under most cases, I can use package XML to get the dataset.
However, some of the website doesn't give a explicit address of the downloaded tables.
To be more specific, for example, I'm interested in the website http://ets.aeso.ca/

Any insight into the behavior of "by" in the following case would be
appreciated. There is a note in the help details for "by" about
documenting behavior since v2.7 but I don't entirely understand what it

trouble with character \u00e2
Greetings R-wizards:
For historical reasons I have filenames with the character "?" and have
successfully used "\u00e2" in its place, with the hoped-for result on all my
on-screen plots.
However since R2.7.0 I have trouble with savePlot() when the file name
includes that character as it does in this example:

Error Running TinnR with R
Hello All,
I am using Tinn-R (v 2.0.0.7) integrated with R (v 2.7.2) on a 32-bit
Windows Vista system.
When I try to run a code and send it to R from Tinn-R, I get the following
error message;
?Error in source(.trPaths[5], echo = T) : object ".trPaths" not found?
I was using an earlier version of Tinn-R and R and I was not having problems
till recently when R-sending started freezing

why order doesn't work?

I want to get a cumsum according to the order of some variable.

[IDF][analyzer] Generalizing IDFCalculator to be used for Clang's CFG
Hi!
As the title suggests, I'd like to generalize llvm::IDFCalculator to be
able to calculate control dependencies on clang's CFG. The issue is
however, that many data structures it uses are "hardcoded" to use
llvm::BasicBlock, and requires a lot of code to turn it into template
arguments.
I managed to pull this off by hammering the code until it compiled, and it
works

ugly plots with xlim/ylim exceeding data range (changed since R2.6.1)
The behaviour of the plot function when used with xlim/ylim and the
matplot function as in the following simple example changed between
R2.6.1 and 2.7.0+ producing ugly plots in the new versions. In case of

metaMDS and envfit: Help reading output

I've used metaMDS to run NMDS on some fish abundance data, and am also working on correlating environmental data to the NMDS coordinates. I'm fairly new to metaMDS and NMDS in general, so I have what are probably some very basic questions. RExcel rcom Server Loading The Wrong Version of R
Hi,
I'm pretty new to R and VERY new to RExcel. I've just finished setting
it up and I'm having some problems. My first Issue is that if I attempt
to use a function like RApply("sum", A1:A4) from within excel it gives
me an error saying "There seems to be no R process connected to the
server" I can then see an R Console open up and I get a message saying R
