Lattice: Superpose bwplot on dotplot [Newbie Question]
Hello everyone I have dataset containing a monetary value (ABS) and two factors (Fct, Group). I am able to create useful using: bwplot(ABS~Group|Fct) and dotplot(ABS~Group|Fct) Question: What do I have to do to overlay the dotplot with the bwplot (same data set)? I've found a couple of posts that hinted at the possibility of doing that, and checked the panel.superpose() help, but the

bwplot superpose panel.points from another dataframe
Hi everybody, using bwplot for producing panel boxplot with 3 dimensions i want to add a mark on each boxplot representing one individual (on all its dimensions) till now, i didn't succeed getting the desired solution I want as well to keep the median symbols as a line Many thanks for your help christophe here is the tested code: ######################## library(lattice) ex <-

bwplot() {lattice}
Hi All, I'm trying to plot boxplot graph. I tried barchart with "groups=" option and it worked fine. But when I try to generate same kind of graph using bwplot(), "groups=" option doesn't seem to work. Though this works, yield ~ variety | site * year I'm thinking why "groups=" doesn't work in this case, can anyone help please... #Code:

Hi, I recently discovered this buglet in lattice: If lattice is _not_ attached, I get > lattice::dotplot(~1:10) Error in eval(expr, envir, enclos) : could not find function "bwplot" This happens because of this: > lattice:::dotplot.formula function (x, data = NULL, panel = "panel.dotplot", ...) { ocall <- ccall <- match.call() ccall$data <- data

color of error bars in Dotplot (Hmisc)
Hello! In a grouped Dotplot, is there any way to set the color of error bars to be the same as the corresponding symbols? Example data: require(lattice) require(Hmisc) data(barley) Dotplot(variety~Cbind(yield, yield+2, yield-2)|year, groups=site, data=barley) I experimented with changing trellis settings of plot.line (as mentioned in the Hmisc documentation) as well as col.line settings in

dotplot as a background for multiple barchart plots (with Lattice)
Hi R users, I'm kind stuck in my R experience... I want to have a multiple barchart with n windows, but with the same background for each window, and I want that background to be a recorded dotplot. First, is it possible ? If so, I guess I have to call a record plot in the panel function but how ? As there is no panel.plot and I can't use the recorded plot as an argument for the

Lattice dotplot with symbols sized and colored
Apologies if this is a naive beginners question. I am trying to create a dotplot with the lattice dotplot function in which my dots are colored differently depending on if positive or negative and sized by sp.nc.bdrs.data$mwZ I have tried... dotplot(sporder ~ cvarorder | direct, data=sp.nc.bdrs.data, cex=abs(sp.nc.bdrs.data$mwZ * 0.05), xlab="climate variables",

dotplot (lattice) with panel.segments and groups
Hi, The following produces almost exactly what I needed. The problems are that the 'panel.dotplot' call (commented) generates the error 'Error in NextMethod("[") : argument "subscripts" is missing, with no default'. The other problem is that the colors alternate between the levels of the 'site' variable, rather than 'year'. barley$yield2

Change in lattice dotplot?
Dear list, I used to have this code in a Sweave document: sel <- placeDF$Place == "Velar" & placeDF$manner == "Plosive" table(placeDF$agem[sel], placeDF$place[sel]) -> pd print( dotplot( prop.table(pd,margin=1), auto.key=list( space="right" ), xlab="Relative Frequency",

Hi everyone, Im very new with R and I would like to change the size text (names) in the ylab in a dotplot. I have checked many webpages and R sites,  but I have not found any help. This is the same structure of the plot in R graph Gallery: http://addictedtor.free.fr/graphiques/RGraphGallery.php?graph=150 thanks in thanks is advance José Mi code is this: ### setup the key k <- simpleKey( c(

Dotplot (package Hmisc) with groups: colours and symbols
Hello all, This question concerns the function Dotplot from the Hmisc package. My aim is to compare values between groups in each panel of the Dotplot, with the values of different groups clearly distinguishable by different symbols. All lines and symbols should be coloured in black. Before adding the panel function to the Dotplot, the groups behaved as desired and were marked by different

lattice dotplot and graphic devices on Windows
I am using R1.4.0 on WindowsNT (the precompiled version from Brian Ripley's website) and the lattice package (version details are at the end of this message). After producing a lattice dotplot, I want to insert the graph into a MicrosoftWord document. With "ordinary" R-graphics, I have done this successfully by copying the graph as a metafile to the clipboard and pasting this into my

Hi everyone, I'm trying to reduce the font size in the Y  exe in this plot: http://addictedtor.free.fr/graphiques/RGraphGallery.php?graph=150 Anyone knows how to do it? I have checked the argument lab.cex and cex, but any of these works! if you want to check us this code: ### read the data d <- read.csv( file( "http://addictedtor.free.fr/graphiques/data/150/data.txt" ) )

Groups and bwplot
Dear R-users, A while ago, Deepayan Sarkar suggested some code that uses the group argument in bwplot to create some 'side-by-side' boxplots (https://stat.ethz.ch/pipermail/r-help/2010-February/230065.html). The example he gave was relatively specific and I wanted to generalize his approach into a function. Unfortunately, I seem to have some issues passing the correct arguments to the

Lattice: problem using panel.superpose and panel.groups
Hi. I'm embarking on my first attempt at creating my own panel function for lattice graphics, and despite all of my online research and pouring through the documentation, I cannot figure out how to solve my particular problem. Hopefully, a generous fellow R user can help. I have some data that is split into two groups: some "actual" data, and some simulated data,
