PDF Compression
Hi,
I am generating a large number of graphs with pdf() and
incorporating them in pdf document using pdflatex.
According to the pdf() help:
'pdf' writes uncompressed PDF. It is primarily intended for
producing PDF graphics for inclusion in other documents, and
PDF-includers such as 'pdftex' are usually able to handle
.compression.
But pdflatex incorporates the R

Combine R2HTML and Rcmd BATCH?
Hi All,
I have an R script that spawns output in the form of an HTML page. This
is done by the R2HTML package.
Now I want to run the same script using Rcmd BATCH. However, it seems
that it is not possible to use R2HTML in this case.
My script ends with this error message:

Combine graphical and textual output
Hi,
I would like to know whether anybody knows a simple way to combine
textual and graphical output in R.
A typical analysis produces textual output (e.g. model fits) and plots
in R. I would like to know whether R has the possibility of combining
these into a single 'report' or output. An example of a program that
does this is SPSS. After running the analysis you have a combination

prettyR arrives
Hi all,
I have finally gotten the prettyR package going (many thanks to Kurt
Hornik for his patience).
prettyR is a set of functions that allows the user to produce HTML
output from R scripts. Given an R script that runs properly, an HTML
listing complete with embedded graphics can be produced simply by
passing the script to the core function htmlize (Phillipe Grosjean has

including tabular information with a plot in R Graphics
Hi all,
I have a presentation problem that I cannot find a solution to in the
documetnation.
I have a nice barplot. Below this I would also like a table with some
information relating to the plot.
My idea was to have the plot and table on the same graphics window so I can
output them as an image file for a report.
Does anybody know how to include tabular information from a dataset or table

Manipulating the "..." args.
Hi,
foo<-x(...)
{ # Need to remove bad characters from string arguments "..."

# Pass on the modified string arguments.

I need to modify string arguments passed in to function foo
as "..." and then pass the modified arguments on to function
bar. Is there a way to access the contents of "..." for
in-place modification?

how to change font size in HTML output
I have not been able to figure out how to change the font size for
R2HTML::HTML output. Or for output from prettyR::htmlize. If anyone
can give me a couple hints that would be great.
Thanks,
Roger J. Bos

reformatting R scripts for htmlize()
Hi!
I have a bunch of (mainly class) R scripts that I would
like to convert into html pages (although if someone
thinks that what I want to do is easier with latex or pdf,
please tell me).
Considering the format of my files, htmlize() seems the best
option. The only problem is that I would need
to write graphics to a file, thus
converting parts like:
plot(sel$hora, sel$COD_SP_C)
#and check the

R2HTML: output from for-loops
Hi,
I am trying to prepare a report with R2HTML using
HTMLStart(outdir="./html", filename="report", echo=T, HTMLframe=F)
then, for instance, I want to get the output of a loop:
for (i in 1:20) print(summary(rnorm(1000)))
but only the first of summaries really ends up in the html file.
What am I doing wrongly?
Thanks,

Frequency tables.
Hi All,
I'm a SAS user but I'm very much interested in learning R.
I use ODS system in SAS to make nice frequency tables. Is it possible to
export the output of table() [in TABULAR FORM]? So, that I can use those
directly for publications? Thank you.
# R Code:
library(datasets)
Orange
summary(Orange) # outputing this, not as it is, but in table for. is it
possible?

I am trying to export the result of freq() to html but the html doesn't look

plots and text to the same output file
Hello,
I would like to save different plots and some text (like summaries, AIC, ...) on the same file.
I've read the e-mails entitled "Output results to a single postscript document" written some days ago and I've tried
to use the function odfInsertPlot() in the package "odfWeave" but it doesn't work on my computer (I've seen that
odfWeave package depends on

Sink does not send graphs to sink file
Wiindows XP
R 2.7
I am using sink() to send the results of my analyses to a text file. Unfortunately my graphs do not become part of the file. Is there anyway that I can have both the text and graphic output of my analyses appear in a file?
Thanks,

odfWeave & prettyR
Hello,
I've been trying to use odfWeave and prettyR packages to create documents with both text and graphs, but so far I
haven't been very lucky...
With the function R2html () in prettyR package, when I try to use a source file, which works perfectly if I run it
directly form R using "source("file")",
it works for the first part and then it makes a mess, i guess

Debian packages: icecast2, libshout, ices2
Hello everyone,
I've been maintaining Debian packages (for sid) of icecast2, libshout,
and ices2 for several months now; my production servers run Debian, and
these packages make using icecast on them even more easily manageable.
They've been quite solid and reliable in all of the situations I've
encountered, and I've had nothing but positive reports from a couple of
testers.

Tabular output: from R to Excel or HTML
What is the equivalent for formatted tabular output of the various very
sophisticated plotting tools in R (plot, lattice, ggplot2)?
In particular, I'd like to be able to produce formatted Excel spreadsheets
(using color, fonts, borders, etc. -- probably via Excel XML) and formatted
HTML tables (ideally through a format-independent interface), and preview
them using commands within R, just as
