Package that does not work until I re write the exactly the same code
Hi the list,
I am writing a package in S4 and I do not manage to understand a bug.
The "R CMD check" and the "R CMD build" both work. Here is links to the
package (not on CRAN yet for the raison that I explain bellow):

Error "Warning in read_symbols_from_dll(so, rarch): this requires 'objdump.exe' to be on the PATH
Hi all,
I try to compile my package kml and I get the message
Warning in read_symbols_from_dll(so,rarch):
this requires 'objdump.exe' to be on the PATH
I check 'Writing R Extensions' but I did not find any reference to this error. Does someone know how
to fix that?
Thank you very much for your help.

Is it possible to be sponsored by R?
Hi the list,
I am a member of the organizing comity of the French Statistics Association (SFdS)'s conference. We
are looking for sponsors. Some software (SAS, RITME, ...) are represented. Do you know if there is
any possibility to be sponsored by R (or by an association close to R)? Do you think I can ask to
the R fondation?
Sincerely
Christophe

Defining Constant variable in a package
Hi all,
In my package, I define some constant. In the previous version of R, I just define then in
"/data/constants.R" but it seems that it is no longer possible. Instead, I am asked to "define them
in the namespace". I am not sure to understand what it means. Shall I define them in the NAMESPACE
file?

r-help or r-devel ?
Hi the list,
I have some basic questions about "writing a package". On which list shall I post them?
Theoretically, I am supposed to post them on r-devel, but all the questions on this list are very
advance questions, not basic ones... So I don't know what to do.

Oriented object programming
Hi all
Two questions:
- I would like to learn more on oriented object programming with R. Is
there any tutorial for that?
- Without waking up a troll, I am not very familiar with diffusion
list, I am more use to forum. On a diffusion list, how can I check if
someone already asks a question? I mean, I went on CRAN-R website, I
find the R mailing list archive. But is there a way to search

getGraphicsEvent plotting two graph
Hi the list,
I need to use getGraphicsEvent to plot two graph. On the following toy
example:
- the function b is ploting two graph depending on a parameter
- the function a is calling b according to some user answers. It is
suppose to call b until the user press Return, but it does not.
b <- function(x){
dev.off(2);dev.off(3)
windows();windows(3,3,xpos=0)
dev.set(2);plot(1:x)

Exporting an rgl graph
Hi the list,
I use rgl to produce a 3D graph. I would like to "show" this graph to
some collaborator. Is there a way to save it and send it to someone
else?

No subject
Dear Friends,
Yesterday I posed a question to the list concerning the possibility of doing
animation examples in R. Here is an example S-Plus (4.5 for Windows ) that
I wrote to illustrate my problem. If I try this in R (comment out the
graphsheet and guilocator calls) I don't see my results until after the
function has iterated through the 100 trials. I would like to plot each
iteration.

savePlot for Mac and / or Linux?

In the package rtlu, I use the function savePlot. It is convenient since
it let the user decide in which graphic format he wants his graph to be

But when I run R CMD check, I get the following message :
> rtlu(V1,fileOutput="First.tex",textBefore="\\section{Variable 1 to
3}",graphName="V1")

Creating and Using Objects in R
Dear All,
I am not very into object-oriented programming, but I would like to
learn the ropes for some R applications.
Quoting from the online R language definition (paragraph 5.1)
