Tremor + upstream Ogg library
Hi vorbis experts!
I'd like ot write application under Symbian that use theora as video
codec & tremor as an audio one. I played at first with libogg &
theora on PC, then successfully ported them both. Next I decided
to port Tremor but I found that it use its own files from Ogg library.
The API is almost identical, so I tried to bind the Tremor with upstream
Ogg library (it actually

[External] Re: quiet namespace load is noisy
Dear Russ,
I had the same problem in my vignettes and setting both message and warning
to FALSE seems to remove all unwanted output:
```{r message=FALSE, warning=FALSE}
library("afex")
library("ggplot2")
library("cowplot")
theme_set(theme_grey())
```
Result:

Silently loading and Depends: versus NAMESPACE imports
R CMD check really hates it when my .onLoad() function contains
suppressMessages(library(foo))
However, _and for non-public packages not going to CRAN_ I prefer doing this
over using explicit Depends or import statements in the NAMESPACE file as the
latter do not give me an ability to make the loading less verbose. With the
R universe of packages being as vast as at is, a simple (non-public)

How to suppress 'Loading required package ...' via Depends/Imports
I tend to run batch jobs via littler. These often start with a single line
loading one or two in-house packages. Now, most the Depends of these
in-house packages now use Depends: entries in DESCRIPTION, rather than
require() in R/zzz.R. This seems to have at least one undesirable side
effect: noise.
Using require(), I can choose the 'quietly=TRUE, warn.conflict=FALSE'
arguments, and

Query on Tremor-lowmem version
Hi,
While following the developer mailing list, I came across
"tremor-lowmem" version. I did some search of it in Xiph.org and
"tremor" source code but wasn't able to find it. I would like to know if
there is any separate thread for the "tremor-lowmem" version as we are
working on the fixed point implementation of Vorbis code and we are
looking forward for

How can I seek in Ogg Vorbis file, but not using Vorbisfile library?
Hello, All.
I am making an Ogg Vorbis decoder based on Tremor. The Vorbisfile library provides a high-level API which enables us to seek in the file, but it needs to declare a pointer to OggVorbis_File structure.
Because I am supposed not to use file, so I can't use the ov_pcm_seek() or ov_raw_seek() functions to seek in the file. For decoding an Ogg Vorbis file, I first put it in

[libtremor] ov_read is reading past file size
I have a wav file which has been converted to an ogg file with libvorbis
via ffmpeg. However I've tested a few files just to make sure.
I run a standard while loop to using ov_read to pull all the data out of
ogg file. Using 4096 as the size to read each call. Watching my debug
logs it is reading 2048 bytes each call.
When I load the wav file the data chunk for the pcm data is 167680

what is max and min bitrate supported in OggVorbis?
Hi All,
I am planning to implement Ogg Vorbis Decoder on a 24 bit DSP.
I have following doubts:
1) What is min and max bitrate?
2)What is max Audio Packet size ?
3)What is the max size of setup header?
4)Any idea how to start for making a 24Bit fixed point reference code?
Shall I start with floating point or Tremor or Tremor Low Mem Version?
5) What window sizes in Ogg Vorbis are normally

libvorbis 1.3.6 - critical security update
libvorbis 1.3.6 has been released. This release fixes several
vulnerabilities, including CVE-2018-5146, that could allow code
execution from a specially crafted Ogg Vorbis file.
* Fix CVE-2018-5146 - out-of-bounds write on codebook decoding.
* Fix CVE-2017-14632 - free() on unitialized data
* Fix CVE-2017-14633 - out-of-bounds read
* Fix bitrate metadata parsing.

WG: ARM port?
Thanks, for all that help from this list.
I need only the decoder to implement. I will compile the tremor projekt next week and post my success or fail.
If it works fine I will sell the boards on ebay, if this is ok? It would then be a player modul for ogg vorbis and wave with midi input.
Best regards Erik

Output signal of the Tremor Codec
Hi,
I study electricity in the University of Applied Sciences of Western Switzerland and I just began my diploma work: an embedded Internet Radio Receiver.
I want to use the Tremor Codec on a ARM7TDMI uc (Samsung S3C4510B). And I need to convert the decoded Vorbis signal in an I2S bus signal (clk, word-select, and data) with a CPLD (Xilinx SPARTAN II)
It will be helpfull if someone can explain

How can I minimize the memory use in Tremor?
Hi all,
I'm porting the Tremor code to an ARM platform. Unfortunately, we didn't use the low mem branch code for CPU performance consideration, and now I find the memory use in it is huge for the embedded system.
After looking into the code, I found the header parse, especially, the codebook unpack part takes a lot of memory. Tremor decodes the codebooks to a cache to store

Problems on TI DSP c6701
Hi all:
I am a newbie to vorbis, and I want to develop vorbis decoder onto TI c6701 evm board.
And I try the tremor code and libvorbis and the code from http://www.xiph.org/archives/tremor/200210/0001.html .
But all of them stll work good in MSVC but terrible in c6701.
I dont know wher the problem is??Problem of code or problem of memory allocation?? it decodes almost noise,....

Vorbis decoder sample code
Hi,
I'm a Pocket PC developer and have created a audio translator application on this platform. I currently make use of
an MP3 decoder engine, but due to heavy licensing fees I'm thinking of switching over to a patent free format.
Vorbis presents the best approach.
I read that tremor decoder has been especially optimized for embedded devices. I'd like to make use of
this and

Performance on low-CPU devices
Hi!
I'm new to this list. I work at a game development company, and we are
considering Ogg Vorbis for the audio in a cell phone game. Does anyone
here have any figures or educated guesses on how much CPU power the
decoding requires? I guess Tremor is the decoder to use, as the CPU
doesn't have a floating point unit, but will it be possible to use it
for playing background music in a

Ogg files versus Ogg streams
Hi all,
I'm very new to Ogg, and am learning about it in an attempt to stream it
from a CF card through a microcontroller. This particular setup requires
me to move parts of the file from the CF card to the microcontroller
buffer, effectively making the file like a data stream. Also, should this
question be directed at the Tremor group instead since that is the codec
I'm using? It

Tremor maintenance
hi,
could someone please apply these to Tremor svn?
0001-update_symbols.patch
there are 3 public symbols in the headers, which are missing in the
linker script and thus marked as private again. This causes issues for
e.g. gstreamer (https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=616194).
0002-pkgconfig.patch
this adds a pkg config file
You probably also want to do something like
