stty: : Operation not supported on transport endpoint
Hi! I am using OpenSSH_3.6.1p2, SSH protocols 1.5/2.0, OpenSSL 0x0090701f on my Mandrake 9.1 machine. I used to run fetchmail to get emails from IRIX 6.3 system which has OpenSSH_3.4p1, SSH protocols 1.5/2.0, OpenSSL 0x0090602f. I had to reinstall my Mandrake, and after that ssh gives me strange error messages. When I run command: ssh -f -L 1234:irixhost.somedomain.fi:110

R-beta: a bug in the lm function ?
I ran a function called BoxCox, taken from the book by Venables and Ripley, for checking the need for power transformation. This function works fine using the version 0.50 of R, but gives an error message with version 0.60. The lm function in version 0.60 is different from that in version 0.50. Is there a bug in the new lm function? Kung-Sik Chan >

Linear Discriminant Analysis error: "Variables appear constant"
Hi R experts, I'm attempting to run Linear Discriminant Analysis using the lda function in the MASS package. I've got around 50 predictor variables and one response variable. My response variable has 5 numeric categories that represent different clusters of fish abundance data (clusters were developed using Bray-Curtis and NMDS), and my predictor variables are environmental variables that

kruskal wallis post hoc test in R
Hello, I need nemenyi-test or any other post-hoc test for kruskal-wallis, but I just can't find out how to implement this in R. My data set is nitrite concentrations in four different groups which I intend to compare. The kruskal-wallis-test showed significance, but I still don't know between which groups these significances are. Can anybody help me with this? Thanks

[LLVMdev] 2.1 Pre-Release Available (testers needed)
Hi, LLVM 2.1-pre1 test results: Linux (SUSE) on x86 (P4) Release mode, but with assertions enabled LLVM srcdir == objdir # of expected passes 2250 # of expected failures 5 I ran the llvm-test suite on my desktop while I was also working on that PC, so don't put too much trust in the timing info. Especially during the "spiff" test the machine was swapping

[LLVMdev] LLVM / CLANG Test Infrastructure Question
Hi All, I am working on a bug in clang. I already have a fix for it and I am going through the "LLVM Testing Infrastructure Guide" to make sure I haven't broken anything else. I have few questions regarding the test suite infrastructure that I hope someone can answer. 1. I checked out and built llvm, clang, and test-suite from svn tip. When I run llvm/test *without* my changes on

LLVMers, The 2.1 pre-release (version 1) is available for testing: http://llvm.org/prereleases/2.1/version1/ I'm looking for members of the LLVM community to test the 2.1 release. There are 2 ways you can help: 1) Download llvm-2.1, llvm-test-2.1, and the appropriate llvm-gcc4.0 binary. Run "make check" and the full llvm-test suite (make TEST=nightly report). 2) Download

Patches for adding 120 ms encoding
Hi Felica, yes, this is the only reason to have larger frames is on bandwidth limited links having a gross (physical) bit rates of 10kbps per channel. Decades ago I calculated with figure (for AMR-NB but the same holds for Opus). https://www.tkn.tu-berlin.de/fileadmin/fg112/Hard_Software_Components/Software/hoene_07_2004_paper.pdf Von: Felicia Lim [mailto:flim at google.com]

R-alpha: New Incomplete Beta Function
Here is a drop-in replacement for the R incomplete beta function. src/math/pbeta.c It is a slightly modified version of the cephes library one from Netlib. In the few cases I tried it seems to give at least 14 digit agreement with the one in S-PLUS (its hard to get more). I'm not sure what performance is like. I'd like to know if it helps with some of the problems which have been

Output Nicely formatted tables from R
Hi there, I've spent a while searching for ways of outputting table data from R in presentable formats, such as colored backgrounds for column headings, bold fonts etc. It appears that this is not possible, but I would be interested to learn if in fact there was a way of achieving this. Many thanks! [[alternative HTML version deleted]]
