Navigating a grid.
Greetings
I am trying to make a multiple panel plot from a tool (genoPlotR) that
is layered on grid. My code and session info are below. When I execute
the code, I get a single plot in the center of the graphics page. I
have tried various pop/push/down/seekViewport commands at the end of
the plotpush method. There must be something I'm missing in the
documentation, I believe what I

R CMD check fails at package dependencies check on Fedora Core 5, works on other systems
I'm testing a FC5 machine for use in a student lab. R 2.3.1 is installed and
seems to work fine. There is one peculiarity - the logins are authenticating
to a server, and a "verbose" flag is set somewhere, leading to lots of
spurious messages like this
request done: ld 0xa227598 msgid 1
which may be confusing R.
However, R CMD check seems to fail for packages with no

change in default behavior of ?functionname in R 2.10?
Hi everyone,
I just installed R 2.10 using the Windows binary. At some point in
the past using the Windows binary installation, the default behavior
of ?functionname changed from plain text to a nice html interface.
Now with R 2.10, the default behavior has changed back to the plain
text help. I assume this has some thing to do with these changes
listed for R 2.10, but I don't quite

seeing an S4 method, not using it
Dear list,
here is a problem I met when trying to use a method for an S4 object,
without loading the package in which the method was defined. I do not
know if this is a bug, or a mistake of mine. Normally, I think the
package in which the appropriate method is defined is loaded
automatically when calling the method. The problem is that if the
package is indeed loaded automatically, the

What linux distro most popular for Asterisk
Is there a recent survey of that Linux distro and version people are using for the Asterisk installations? I recall seeing a pie chart over a year ago (I think on a wiki but I can't find it again)....also hoping for something more current.
I suspect RH5 and RH6 are most popular...but I'm looking for facts

I have a loop, which is set to take about 26 hours to run at the rate it's going

loading up my array gpcc.array:
#My data is stored in a table format with all the data in one long column

TRANS.TBL files on Win95 fileserver
I have a small LAN in my basement, with my PC running RH5 Linux and a Win95 PC
connected by Samba. Everything works fine, but when I smbmount a CD (burned
with xcdroast) from the Linux box (CD is in the Win95 machine) I do not get the
proper filenames. All files are uppercase, and the TRANS.TBL files appear to be
ignored. I have tried playing with name mangling, but it didn't help. Is this a

how do you interpolate a gaussian grid to a standard 2.5 degree grid?
Dear R-help community,
I have looked on the R search site and archives but cannot find mention of a way
of interpolating a gaussian distribution of data to a standard 2.5 degree grid.
I have two global dataset and I need to correlate - unfortunately one is a 2.5
degree grid dim[longitude=144,latitude=72] and one is gaussian
dim[longitude=192,latitude=94].
I would rally appreciate hearing
