Diamond graphs
I apologise for starting a new thread, but we had a mail problem and I don't have the original message to refer to. Someone mentioned the new "Diamond Graphs" invented at Johns Hopkins. I haven't see the August 2003 issue of The American Statistician yet, but I _have_ read the press release. The press release is a bit of a stunner. I quote: "Who would have thought we

Diamond graphs, again.
Some time ago I was allowed to discuss "Diamond Graphs", and whether they would be useful in R, in this mailing list. The August 2003 issue of The American Statistician has finally arrived here and I have been able to read the article. A number of points of interest arise. 1. The article is "A Diamond-Shaped Equiponderant Graphical Display of the Effects of Two

ggplot2 stacked line plot
Hi all, I have been hunting around for hours trying to figure out how to generate a stacked line chart using ggplot2. This type of chart can be generated in excel 2007 by selecting: Chart type > Line > Stacked line. I can generate a stacked area chart using the following code: p <- ggplot2(~, aes(x = ~, y = ~, colour = Type)) + geom_area(aes(position = 'stack', fill = Type))

Here is a link of my actual problem description (there are some chart pictures as well).... http://www.mrexcel.com/board2/viewtopic.php?t=187336&highlight=stacked+column because I still couldn't solve that problem I came to R. Stacked area chart and legends
I have found lots of good advice on this forum about stacked area charts but I?ve run into problems with the 2 recommended options: stackploy in plotrix or qplot in ggplot2. I have a many page report that will be in a 2x2 page format ?par(mfrow=c(2,2))?? and need one of the page components to be a stacked chart. I?d prefer to use stackpoly, if possible, but I?m stuck on how to do the legend in

Quick summary of Grandstream survey results
Here is a quick tally of the various things people asked for.. I'm going to go thru the list and weight the results based on my scale of 1-10. This is just a count of each "item", otherwords how many times that item came up. Some things I considered as bugs and lumped them as bug-fixes For the various requests for codec's I broke out which ones people where asking for.

Stacked geom_bar with aggregated SE -ggplot2
Hi there,? I've been battling with an extension of this in my own data: getting appropriate error bars once data is stacked in a bar graph.? (original question: http://r.789695.n4.nabble.com/ggplot2-se-variable-in-geom-errorbar-s-limits- td3311176.html). It wouldn't let me reply to that thread. A modification of the earlier answer:? data(diamonds)? ?diamonds_df <- ddply(diamonds,

Dear Richard,? Thank you very much for your reply. I went through the code and it worked. I was also able to change the colours.? I was wondering if I can change the legend position; instead of being in the bottom to be on the left side.? I tried the following but without any success strip = FALSE strip.right = TRUE likert(t(hellisheidi), ReferenceZero=.5, xlab="X-lab",

Plotting lines to sets of points
I am using R to plot baseball spray charts from play-by-play data. I have used the following command to plot the diamond: plot (0:250, -250:0, type="n", bg="white") lines(c(125,150,125,100,125),c(-210,-180,-150,-180,-210), col=c("black")) I have also plotted different hit locations using commands such as the following: points(subset(framename$hit_x,

vertically stacked area plot?
Dear all, I would like to create a vertically stacked area chart in R. The data are presented in the attached text file. I would like to see the trend in values for the different groups with sediment depth (that's why I would like to create a vertically stacked chart; normally sed_depth should be = x, but I want it plotted on the y-axis).
