reshaping data frame
Dear all, I'm having a few problems trying to reshape a data frame. I tried with reshape{stats} and melt{reshape} but I was missing something. Any help is very welcome. Please find details below: ################################# # data in its original shape: indiv <- rep(c("A","B"),c(10,10)) level.1 <- rpois(20, lambda=3) covar.1 <- rlnorm(20, 3, 1) level.2

scaling y-axis to relative frequency in multiple histogram (multhist)
Hi, I'm plotting a multiple histogram using the function multhist {package plotrix}, something like: library(plotrix) mh <- list(rnorm(200, mean=200, sd=50), rnorm(200, mean=250, sd=50)) multhist(mh) In this graph y-axis represents the frequency of observations.... but I would like it to be scaled into relative frequencies, does anybody know how to do this with multhist or similar

silly, extracting the value of "C" from the results of somers2
Sorry I have a very simple question: I used somers2 function from Design package: > z<- somers2(x,y, weights=w) results are: >z C Dxy n Missing 0.88 0.76 500 0.00 Now I want to call only the value of C to be used in further analyses, but I fail to do it. I have tried: > z$C NULL > z[,C] Error in z[,C]: incorrect number of dimensions and some other silly

lmer Error: Downdated X'X is not positive definite
Hi, This is the first time I've posted, and I apologize if I formulate this incorrectly. I am analyzing data from a multi-region carrot variety trial. 35 varieties of carrots were grown in 3 randomized complete blocks in organic and conventional fields in Wisconsin, Indiana, Washington, and California. In this example I am comparing the heights of the carrot tops at harvest. In other

How to read percentage and currency data?
I'm struggling to find any help on this seemingly simple question - how does one read data with percentage (%) or currency (?,$ etc.) signs? When I try to read a data file which has any of those symbols in the data fields, they are read as characters rather than values. Is there a function or library which can deal with such values? As an example, I use this sample from one of chinna's

Loading Excel file into Limma
Dear mailing group, This is my first time here. Glad to have this resource! I am currently trying to load an Excel file into R (limma package loaded) using the source(*name of directory*) command, but it cannot open the file. I renamed the file as .R and .RData, to no avail. The Excel data contains one gene name per row and about 100 data points per gene (columns). I am only used to

Unreasonably poor performance of replicated volumes
Hello everybody! I have 3 gluster servers (*gluster 3.12.6, Centos 7.2*; those are actually virtual machines located on 3 separate physical XenServer7.1 servers) They are all connected via infiniband network. Iperf3 shows around *23 Gbit/s network bandwidth *between each 2 of them. Each server has 3 HDD put into a *stripe*3 thin pool (LVM2) *with logical volume created on top of it, formatted

Unreasonably poor performance of replicated volumes
Guess you went through user lists and tried something like this already http://lists.gluster.org/pipermail/gluster-users/2018-April/033811.html I have a same exact setup and below is as far as it went after months of trail and error. We all have somewhat same setup and same issue with this - you can find same post as yours on the daily basis. On Wed, Apr 11, 2018 at 3:03 PM, Anastasia Belyaeva

evaluation methods for logistic regression with proportion data
Dear list-members, I have made a logistic regression analysis of the spatial distribution of an ecological phenomenon (wildlife-caused crop damage). I divided the region into 5x5 km grids, and in each grid I have performed a number of questionnaires to asses the presence of crop damage in particular houses. As a result, my dependent variable is not a simple presence/ absence data but a

UNSOLITED E_MAILS: Integrate R data-analysis projects with Microsoft Office for free
Dear R Admins, I received an unsolicited e-mail from BlueInference as an R user. Does it mean that R that our e-mails (and names) is sharing it's user database with third parties without our consent? Or perhaps the BlueInference guys are using an e-mail address miner to get our contact details? [SNIP] Dear Gorden Jemwa, As a fellow R user, I am sure you agree with me that R is a

Unreasonably poor performance of replicated volumes
Thanks a lot for your reply! You guessed it right though - mailing lists, various blogs, documentation, videos and even source code at this point. Changing some off the options does make performance slightly better, but nothing particularly groundbreaking. So, if I understand you correctly, no one has yet managed to get acceptable performance (relative to underlying hardware capabilities) with

no df to test the effect of an interaccion on a lmer mixed model
Dear useRs, I am fitting a mixed model using the function lmer from the package lme4, but I have some problems when I try to test the effect of my factors of interest. First let me explain the structure of the model: I'm measuring animal movements. Explicitly, I am interested in displacement (straight-line distance from an initial point). Displacements are measured longitudinally, with one

[ovirt-users] Re: Gluster problems, cluster performance issues
The profile seems to suggest very high latencies on the brick at ovirt1.nwfiber.com:/gluster/brick1/engine ovirt2.* shows decent numbers. Is everything OK with the brick on ovirt1? Are the bricks of engine volume on both these servers identical in terms of their config? -Krutika On Wed, May 30, 2018 at 3:07 PM, Jim Kusznir <jim at palousetech.com> wrote: > Hi: > > Thank you. I

[ovirt-users] Re: Gluster problems, cluster performance issues
Hi all again: I'm now subscribed to gluster-users as well, so I should get any replies from that side too. At this point, I am seeing acceptable (although slower than I expect) performance much of the time, with periodic massive spikes in latency (occasionally so bad as to cause ovirt to detect a engine bad health status). Often, if I check the logs just then, I'll see those call traces

[ovirt-users] Re: Gluster problems, cluster performance issues
I've been back at it, and still am unable to get more than one of my physical nodes to come online in ovirt, nor am I able to get more than the two gluster volumes (storage domains) to show online within ovirt. In Storage -> Volumes, they all show offline (many with one brick down, which is correct: I have one server off) However, in Storage -> domains, they all show down (although
