not able to install acts_as_ferret
I have an older version installed and want to try the latest ferret/aaf to see if it solves some perf problems, but haven''t been able to get aaf on multiple tries on multiple days now. script/plugin install svn://projects.jkraemer.net/acts_as_ferret/trunk/plugin/acts_as_ferret svn: Can''t connect to host ''projects.jkraemer.net'': Operation timed out Has

Ferret::StateError while using acts_as_ferret
I''m fairly new to ferret / aaf and finding it much easier to use than HyperEstraier (which I migrated from). However, I am getting a few errors and I need to figure out if they''re problems with my usage of ferret or a bug I should report. I''m currently running Ferret 0.10.11 with acts_as_ferret (latest via svn external) and 3 times today I''ve seen the

non-searchable columns, normalization
Hello. I am new to Ferret. I am using it through Acts as Ferret. Let''s say I have such a table, and all columns are indexed using the default behavior provided by acts_as_ferret: ARTICLES -id -year -body [1] A typical request will be "select id from articles where KEYWORDS % body". Will id be indexed for fulltext searching? clearly the fulltext index on id will never be

acts_as_ferret: reindexing it too slow
Hi, Recently, I was trying to play around with AAF and found that reindexing table is very slow. Then I started looking into Ferret performance and tried myself and found that it''s very fast. Then, I just used Ferret to index my table and it was also very fast. All good. Then why reindexing using AAF is slow. After sometime I found that in the AAF, it uses (:key => :id) in

strange acts_as_ferret bug in my enviorment
Bouncing this to the list since mail to the original sender doesn''t seem to get through - hope he reads here... short intro to the problem - SQL queries get localized ('','' instead of ''.'' as decimal separator) when having aaf in vendor/plugins... acts_as_ferret 0.2.1
The svn repository for acts_as_ferret has just been tagged with version 0.2.1. This is the first version of aaf to support the 0.9.x branch of Ferret. See http://projects.jkraemer.net/acts_as_ferret/wiki *Features* * High speed full text search across the contents of any Rails model class, without any hassles. The index will be kept up to date automagically while you work with your Rails

acts_as_ferret to search partial phrases and fuzzy
Hi All, I was wondering if anyone had experience of extending AAF plugin for Rails to implement a broader query ? The documentation and the demo provided on the http://projects.jkraemer.net/acts_as_ferret/ wiki seems to only match full text queries, or partial when using a * wildcard. Ideally, I am trying to acheive something similar to the following (pseudo code): def search @query

acts_as_ferret : cannot use a customized Analyzer (as indicated in the AdvancedUsageNotes)
Hi all, I cannot make aaf (rev. 220) use my custom analyzer, despite following the indications @ http://projects.jkraemer.net/acts_as_ferret/wiki/AdvancedUsage To pinpoint the problem, I created a model + a simple analyzer with 2 stop words : "fax" and "gsm". test 1 : model.rebuild_index + model.find_by_contents("fax") # fax is a stop word. => I get a

making acts_as_ferret thread safe?
Hi I get a synchronize error (see below) when I run a lib script with script/runner. The script updates a status field in a model object that is indexed and searchable within the script/server (mongrel) process. $ script/runner -e production ''load "lib/billing/credit_subscribers.rb"'' /usr/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/rails-1.1.6/lib/commands/runner.rb:27: IOError (IOError)

Searchable Archives of this list
Is there a searchable archive of this list? Did I overlook something obvious? I can find the archives, but short of downloading all the monthly gzips and building my own searchable database, it seems my only other option is to go month by month looking at subjects and hope to stumble on what I'm after. Does anyone maintain a public searchable version of the archives? I've got

Searchable Archives?
Hi guys, I am new to Asterisk. It looks great, but I have a couple of open questions such as - What softphones are recommended and provide Call Center level functionality? - What hardware (especially E1 (Euro S2M) class) are supported? I would like to search the list archives, but can't find a searchable archive. Can someone please point me into the right direction? Thanks. Regards,

Searchable archives of Markdown discussion list still available?
I was interested in going back to research past discussions on the list about possibilities for a syntax to add a class="foo" to div's and/or span's to Markdown text, but didn't have much luck. IIRC, the list never had a searchable web interface, but older posts were available on a Google search. This seems not to be the case any more. Can anyone recommend a good

preventing indexing of an acts_as_ferret''d model?
Hi, this is hopefully an easy one, but I''ve gone through the api and searched past forum entries, and am drawing a blank. I have a model that with acts_as_ferret mixed in to it, which is working fine. But I want users to be able to set a ''private'' attribute on the model, and when it''s set to true, create and update methods would skip indexing. So, how can I

I'm going to post a question to the group that I'm sure has been answered before, but all the googling in the world isn't helping me. Is there a searchable archive of this mailing list somewhere?

Searchable List Archives?
I'd like to be able to search the list archives when I'm reading someone's message to put what they say in context based on what they've said, and what others have said in conversation with them, in the past. It would help me figure out whether to trust some submitters on some issues, and just learn more from the community's collective/cumulative research and discussion. Is

Browsable/searchable mailing list archives
Hi, Is there an easily browsable and searchable archive for cfe-dev? I often find myself wanting to link to a particular email, and it’s a very time consuming process with a pipermail interface. I’ve noticed that llvm-dev is reposted to a google group (https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/llvm-dev <https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/llvm-dev>) which can be super convenient for that
